Re: Phantom Infections
Hi, What does SCI mean? I'm thinking her crystals where having a larger effect on her than we originally thought. Grimm is a pretty picky spoiled little girl and will only drink water from a running faucet or a water fountain bowl. Even that is a bit difficult because she LOVES water and will common...

Phantom Infections
I rescued my kitty Grimm about two years ago when she was very young, and intended to nurse her to health and give her away to a friend. We quickly realized there was something going on with her, and after quite a few unsatisfactory vet visits, found her to be incontinent. I have never dealt with an...

Re: Diet suggestions to combat UTI's
Hello, I'm sorry for a late reply, I hope you and your kitties are doing well! I have recently started my kitty who had very persistent infections (We were getting them almost every 3 months!) on a prescription diet from Royal Canin called urinary SO. We began this about 8 months ago and have seen n...

Feeling helpless with too many UTIs
I've had my little girl for a little over a year now. I rescued her at the hands of a few ladies who I over heard were trying to "get her run over by a car." I immediately took her from them she was roughly 3 weeks old, just barely walking at the time. I had every intention of getting her ...

Re: Incontinent (Urine/Stool) Cat with Chronic UTIs
Thank you so much for all the wonderful information! I'm still new and learning this process but have no doubt we can get a hang of this. We finally found a great vet that I feel very comfortable working with near me and another vet about an hour out from me I take her to when I'm really having a ha...

Re: Incontinent (Urine/Stool) Cat with Chronic UTIs
What an amazing wonderful job you've done so far! She looks so happy and well in your comfort and care, and remember without you where she may be. I am also going through a very similar struggle, my vet suggested me moving her up to expressing at least every six hours but we are still experiencing i...

Cleaning tips for incontinent kitten
I have a 9 month old kitten that was diagnosed with a congenital birth defect and neurological disorder, she's SUCH a cute little pill. We rescued her around 3 weeks from some people at my apartment complex trying to get her run over by a car. She was barely starting to walk and obviously malnourish...

Re: Urine Scalding Berner Boy
I have a long haired kitty I had a similar problem with at first. Although her coat is so beautiful, I have found keeping the area neatly trimmed short is a really good way of preventing not only having a hard time noticing, but a good way of keeping the area cleaner so you won't end up with urine s...

Re: New member - injured cat left incontinent
I am surprised to hear she cleans it that much. Mine won't go near her backside, we clean it for her. I don't know how yours is but mine consistently dribbles, which is why we started diapering, so we use bag balm on her bottom to keep from diaper rash. When we do get the occasional diaper rash we u...

Re: New member - injured cat left incontinent
Hello! Just wanted to let you know it sounds like you are doing wonderfully so far! I have a little 8 month old that I rescued when she was just 3 weeks old. It took us a long time to find out she had a birth defect that left her incontinent. It was a very difficult and stressful process to begin wi...

Re: Looking for guidance and support
An almost one month update, we visited the vet again today. He seemed completely baffled. My little one has gone through a lot and with me by her side we have really tackled a lot. She is now almost FULLY using the litter on her own. She rarely needs to be expressed anymore. She still has a few acci...

Re: Looking for guidance and support
Thank you, she is doing wonderfully now. I have to say this site has given me so much hope and so much information, I am so grateful. I'm sure my little one is as well. She poops on her own in the litter now (horrah!) and sometimes will go in the box. Figuring out her schedule has helped immensely, ...

Re: Looking for guidance and support
Update We went to an absolutely fabulous vet today, I'm so glad I found him. He said it was a congenital birth defect but is very interested in her case. As time has been going on she's slowly been gaining more control (she pooped twice on her own in 24 hrs) and seems to be doing better, keep hoping...

Re: Looking for guidance and support
I was previously only stimulating her, now I am beginning to express her. It's still a bit rocky, sometimes I get it in the first go and sometimes it takes a bit. We have not put her in diapers yet, at first we thought she just had problems with her food or parasites or something but now we are comi...
