battle scars are getting to me

the past few years have been very difficult for me. I have lot a LOT of my kitties, some i knew were failing, others were a total surprise. last year I lost 7 kitties, the two years before were similar if not worse. This year, so far, I have lost two. Tommy Chestnut, my little spark of happiness, bo...

Ishkur says th ank mew CarolC for her wheels!

Ishkur is a kitty who had multiple closed head injuries and cannot stand on her own, but she is spunky and full of life. I found a video with a cart for CH kitties and our own CarolC made it for Ishkur! thank you so much. It has taken a lot of practice, but finally Ishkur can motor around in it, nic...

Re: Ishkur in her cart!

Isis is getting the hang of it, she managed to get herself going in her cart, but she get soooo excited that her legs get uncoordinated. Here are picts from today https://photos.app.goo.gl/GNgQva9uvYgSM62r8 I think she is using it as a hammock because it is comfy and she is a cat, and making it walk...

I have toasted Bendy every night since he passed

it occurred to me today that I wanted to also toast Butterbean.
the two of them didn't like each other very much, for the short time they knew each other so I think toasting them at the same time would be inappropriate. Okay, two separate toasts then.

Ishkur's symptoms are improving.

The vet who saw Ishkur has a lot of experience with CH cats (aka wobblers) and he stated that this is NOT a CH kitty. I have little experience with them so I couldn't say one way or the other. Ishkur has a symptom that reminded me a lot of my girl Mimosa, who had severe brain damage from an anoxic e...

Re: Ishkur in her cart!

HM.
I did not get a single notification that this thread had any replies.

Ishkur is doing very well in her cart, although right now she keeps pulling her feet up and using it as a hammock, silly cat.
She definitely likes being upright. Thanks again!

Trying to find wheels for Ishkur, CH kitty

Ishkur is the newest resident here at the Bendy House, she has severe CH and cannot stand on her own. I tried a regular 2 wheel cart for hind end trouble but she is so twitchy she keeps spasming out of the straps. A little time on Google and I found a sling design on a four wheel cart that looks sim...

THANK YOU MARK!

for the lovely calendar. I am actually thinking of giving it to my vet so they can display it in their office. They have a little figureine of a walking wheels dog there and I had to laugh when they asked if I knew the site.

Re: Help with recent cat injury

that is a great sign of progress. nerves recover slowly. you might see tiny improvements for a year or more, or a sudden big improvement. Great he moved his tail! and great he is trying to pee in the box! my neuro guy will pee in box but never poop in it, i have no clue why. have you been doing any ...

Re: Help with recent cat injury

Did any of the vets think to check his heart? Sudden loss of hind limb control is also classic saddle thrombus. If the clots were not total blockages he could slowly regain function, but would be at extremely high risk for a recurrence. I had a heart disease cat whose blood clot in her leg was putt ...

Re: newly blind and deaf 10 month old cat

My girl Mimosa stopped breathing under anesthesia and woke up deaf and blind, and with serious coordination issues. I had to teach her how to walk. the sight and hearing came back somewhat but then she lost her hearing again. You can't really predict what is going to happen, most likely your boy wil...
