I've been thinking about that. I guess somebody somewhere might even make custom skateboards in different shapes? Would need to find very low wheels...
Will start looking up, bet I'm not their typical customer though

Re: What to do with Oscar... (long!)
Lol, don't worry, it really did me good to get it off my chest :-) Most of the time since that X-ray, Bombón was ill and having seizures so often that I hardly wrote anything for ages and sometimes it helps... I did think perhaps it wasn't clear, the time difference, and I was worried that people mi...

Re: What to do with Oscar... (long!)
Thanks all. Lol, I replied explaining how vets in Spain are 10/15 years behind the US in terms of expertise (their own words) but about 150 years behind in terms of attitude towards animals and quality of life, but it ran to 7 pages, so I rewrote it and now it's down to less than 2.5. In short, the ...

Re: Juniper, Catahoula double merle born w/ no anus - NEEDS HELP
I'm glad she made it through the surgery. Our little Brisa has only had the first part of the surgery (they opened up a hole because she didn't even have one - or she had a fistula that closed - but still has to have the second part later (moving the anus to its proper place, at the moment it is tou...

Re: What to do with Oscar... (long!)
Thanks for the replies and ideas. Would you believe I have spent weeks looking at plant stands on wheels but they are all either too small, or too round. If I were just the slightest bit "handy" I would try and make something myself on casters but I did try and do a little "trailer&qu...

Re: Need advice from FeLV/FIV experts
Thanks Bendy for understanding. It's so difficult when the animal you are trying to help perceives you as a threat. I felt terrible for causing her any extra stress. The wild cat man was really helpful, maybe if I had found him sooner we might have managed to better stabilise her, it's difficult too...

Re: Imperforate anus
Brisa was adopted by the lady I mentioned, who looks after her beautifully. I saw them on Wednesday. Brisa is growing but not putting on as much weight as the vets would like. She had her first vaccinations on Wednesday, previously they were worried they could make her too weak. She poops fairly con...

What to do with Oscar... (long!)
Oscar needs some kind of a wheelchair/cart/mobility aid. At any time I have a garage full of different carts that we use for our foster dogs and lend out, when we buy new carts we generally buy Doggon and are very happy with them. But Oscar is a challenge, he's not like any of the other paralysed do...

Re: Need advice from FeLV/FIV experts
Bendy and Mom, thank you for your helpful words, I thought I had answered before, sorry I have been very busy. Unfortunately little Fabi lost her fight for life last week. She became more and more "autistic", I was fairly sure she was deaf, and on what turned out to be her last day I was w...

Re: Cluster seizures / status epilepticus
Very sad news I'm afraid, my little great friend Bombón died this afternoon. She went very peacefully, by my side, so peacefully I didn't even realise that she was going until she had gone... Bombón was with me for 5 years. She came as a stray that had been hit by a car. She had two spinal cord frac...

Re: Imperforate anus
Thanks Carol, I was just coming to give the latest update from the hospital which is that she has started to poop with the help of massages. There is still a lot to come out, but it does seem to be starting to work. They are sure she will need the further surgery because the two are really too close...

Re: Imperforate anus
Brisa was operated on yesterday and she made it through the operation okay, although it's a bit soon yet to gauge the results. The surgeons found a "point" right above the vulva that they felt might have been where the anus was going to develop, so instead of going in at the point where it...

Re: Imperforate anus
Thanks both. Karen that must have been very tough... I know it's kind of impossible that she isn't eliminating, it's a puzzle, that's why I say she's like a little miracle, but I never saw her poop and at the hospital she hasn't pooped either. On her x-rays you can see that she is backed up with poo...
