Re: Cleveland, GA - Broken Spirit on her own too long

I am so sad to hear this news :'( She was such a special dog... She was very lucky to have spent her last days with all the incredible love and support of so many people around her. I know she was happy...

Re: Cleveland, GA - Broken Spirit on her own too long

Hi Christine, No I am not moved yet... won't be til at least the middle of the month. Since Ed the german shepherd didn't need to come back, we told our landlord to take his time fixing up the new place (so it's done right). Therefore, it's been delayed for a while now. I'm interested if someone cou...

Where does everyone express their incontinent animals?

I'm just wondering where everyone expresses their incontinent animals. I've had my incontinent cat Cricket since last fall, and most of the time I have used a puppy pad. I use them in her bed to help with keeping her clean, and when it's time to change her bed I take the pad out and express her over...

Ed has made it safely to his new foster home in Utah! Laura said he got their early afternoon today. He's doing well and already made friends with their dog, another shepherd. :D Thank you guys for listening and caring about this special dog :thankyou:

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

The first leg of the trip has been completed successfully!! :ecstatic: I met up with a pilot named Joe yesterday evening, and he took him to the halfway point in Longmont, CO. He'll be staying there for a day or so before going the rest of the way with his second flight.

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

No, another setback. I was on my way to the airport and got a call that the first pilot's plane wouldn't start and was out of commission. So we are working on a plan B

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

Ed is scheduled for takeoff at the Lexington airport this Tuesday! He is also getting much stronger on his feet. It's getting harder and harder to tell that just a week ago he couldn't walk :cheer:

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

The foster home in Utah has committed as long as he passes a cat test, which I will try to do tomorrow. I am told there is a backup home as well. We're still getting all the transport details worked out, but things are looking good. :D

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

I have contacted Laura again to throw another plan in the mix for the board to consider. I asked her if it would work if my husband and I took him back when we moved, since my husband and I would like to move from our tiny place soon. Then we would have a bigger place able to house two dogs, and tha...

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

Ok... someday there will be a solution! But let me start with the good news: A wonderful thing happened yesterday and Ed is walking again! He's not 100% but unfortunately, he's making so much progress, that Healing Hearts is re-considering. I haven't heard the final word, but I'm pretty sure they wa...

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

I got a call tonight from Laura, and they have a foster home that will take Ed!! He will be off site, but receiving therapy at their sanctuary. She is working on the logistics of the transport. I just have to talk to the veterinarian tomorrow. It's a long way for Ed to travel, so hopefully he will a...

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

Ok, I added that information (to both of his posts message boards). Also, Carol and Christine, if someone is willing to take him and he must be transported, would one of you be willing to contact the veterinarian directly and explain how it works? He will want to know, and it would be best coming fr...

Re: German Shepherd in Kearney, NE area has until Feb 15th

I haven't asked that question directly but that is the understanding. I think he is ok to be transported as long as he knows exactly where the dog is going and what kind of people will be caring for him.
