Re: IVVD

Actually, the video could work for a male also. My male can pee forward or backward, depending how I aim it.

Re: Please help..My cat Trooper stopped peeing...

Troopersmom, He had blood in his urine early this morning, and when I came home from work, now he's not peeing at all. Anytime we see blood in the urine we suspect a urinary tract infection (URI). I'd call and interview some vets by phone to see if you can find someone who will see him, today ! Good...

Re: erection

Marilyn, It's a good idea to call the vet if he hasn't urinated. I find that a very full bladder will cause my dog's p*nis to extend from the foreskin in which case it's really not an erection but the full bladder causing the problem. Also, sometimes it's caused by lint attaching to his p* and dryin...

Re: Murphy died

Hi Troopersmommy, We're doing fine. Eighteen years is a long time to have a pet, but I recognized that we were on borrowed time with his squamous cell carcinoma of the pink nose leather and the CHF. He was diabetic a few years ago but had since lost weight and gone off glipizide. At one point he sto...

Re: help expelling bladder

A full bladder will descend well beyond the outlines of this xray, but at least the xray will show the general bladder location. It just takes some practice http://www.marvistavet.net/html/body_cats_with_broken_tails.html Secondly, try using closed fists to exert the pressure. The tail will usually ...

Re: Was THIS a seizure?

Bobbie, Thank you so much for describing what works for you. Wow! What kind of stress causes seizures? BTW, he drools but has not yet become incontinent during a seizure. He has his own bed. The vet mentioned that he likes to keep a dog on PB (Phenobarb) for about 6 months, test liver titers, and th...

Re: Was THIS a seizure?

Back from the vet.

Now have Valium suppositories, and phenobarb BID. Vet drew blood for a blood panel to see if there are any hypo or hypers. $212.00 Return in 3 weeks for blood work and followup.

Looks like this is a merry-go-round. Anyone have any suggestions how to handle this better?

Thanks Bobbie.

Has anyone tried applying a bag of ice to the lower midsection during a seizure?

Re: Was THIS a seizure?

Ok, two seizures within the last week. Today's seizure lasted almost a full 5 minutes. I grabbed my shoes, and purse and was ready to load him into the car for a trip to the emergency vet when he began wagging his tail. Time for a vet checkup and maybe meds....... :?

Re: 10 weeks post-accident, not eating or drinking

You can get special vet food for pancreatitis. Call and ask for it. The first thing they usually recommend with pancreatitis is resting the colon for a day. Keep up the liquid intake. Did you try making unseasoned defatted chicken broth from a cutlet? My pets usually lap this up when they won't eat ...

Re: Murphy died

Thank you everyone for your very kind replies. He ate well until the very last day, he climbed the stairs, he wanted held until the end. I just didn't expect it. If he had to go it couldn't have been any better. In addition to the CHF he had an ulcerative skin cancer on his pink nose leather that th...

Murphy died

My almost 18 year old lap cat Murphy died tonight of CHF. I really didn't know it was time. We quietly buried him in the darkness in our backyard near his littermate Harley who died of CHF last September.
