ideas

You might try the CH kitty club (catfamily.com, I think). If all else fails, try bestfriends.org. Somebody here might be able to help as well.

Good luck!!

Re: I need help with a paralyzed dog

I wouldn't worry about wheels yet, although we have LOTS of ideas for cheap and/or homemade wheels here. He may not need them. I've never heard of a pupper getting a spinal fusion, but you might want to ask Abledogs (abledogs.net), a VERY active email list. Almost every one of them has been in your ...

Congrats!!

And, BTW, my mom got a pic of Bendy in her email last week. I'll send you the whole thing sometime soon; I think it's a pretty big file (her email doesn't measure them like mine does). I was shocked to see somebody I "know"!!

It was quite cute, of course!

Check the listings. Bendy, Alisa any help here?

Maybe petfinder? There are also lists for disabled critters. I'd also get the word out to your local rescuers, because disabled and/or disfigured critters are quite common. If you only want a Cairn, try Cairn rescue. Hopefully somebody can post links.

Charlie joined her yesterday; perhaps they've found each other. Roxy was a beautiful girl, and I know you miss her.

She's young enough that she should be fine. :)

Let me know about the wobbles; she might have Cerebellar Hypoplasia (kitty cerebral palsy). Spunk, my blind punk, can see shadows and some movement, too; just enough to get her in trouble!! *g* Very good idea to use the van kennel; just kind of let her lead the way as to how fast to procede. Canned ...

So I take it this is an adult kitty?

Born blind (or at a young age)? If so, I doubt you'll need to do anything much adaptive. You might want to let kitty get used to a room or so, then expand as he/she gets used to it. I'm always amazed at how adaptable they are! If you need toys, there are some balls with bells that do well; I've even...

What a sad story. msg

I suggest you try adopting another disabled, disfigured, or special needs critter; there are SOOO many great ones looking for their own place, willing and able to love you.

Congrats on your recovery!!
