Re: Not having much luck

Hi, I have a little insight on what you are going through. I would recommend taking off the front wheels to see how he does. You can always add them back. When an Amputee uses the Walkin Wheels, or any wheelchair, it's like re learning how to walk again. It does take time. The other important thing ...

Re: Wheelchair legs not locking

Hi, I hope that your Boxer is not injured from the fall. It sounds like you need a new set of knuckles which hold the legs/wheels together. The part is $25.00/set of two. You can call Walkin' Pets by Handicappedpets.com at 888-253-0777 and ask for Nancy in the wheelchair Department. If you purchesed...

Re: Length of time in cart

The typical time period in a wheelchair would be up to 1 hour. Keep in mind, she won't be able to sit or lie down in the cart. Most dogs will let their owners know it's time to get out by barking or whimpering. If the dog is in it too long, you might see chaffing around the legs. If you have a doxy,...

Re: best all-terrain cart for large front leg amputee

I think the Walkin Wheels Rear Wheelchair should work out as long as the other front leg is in good shape, especially if he is used to being on three legs. I'm thinking that your dog will still be able to use the back legs even though they are weak, instead of using the stirrups to hold up the paws....

Re: Blood circulation and pooing

Hi, You might need to lower the tubes harness system if it is too tight. We recommend that the leg rings hang down 2-3" from the frame. The dog should be able to pee and poop while in the wheelchair. I would highly recommend sending me a side and rear view of your dog in the wheelchair for eval...

Re: Wheels - yes or no

Good news! Our Walkin' Wheels Small Wheelchair was designed just for dachshunds just like yours! The wheelchair allows the dog to use their back legs to develop the muscles while taking some of the weight off their abdomen. Now she will be able to take long walks again without feeling tired. If some...

Re: leg rings causing redness on groin?

Hi again, The leg rings might be too tight or left on dog too long. The velcro connector in the middle should be tight so the two tubes are touching. Also, it could also be that the chaffing occurred if the leg rings are wet.

Re: Help please!!! Just cant get quad cart settings right!!

Hi Tara, It appears that your dog is sitting on the leg rings instead of standing. You will need to tighten the legs rings a bit on all four sides. Hopefully, that will get his legs back and straight right in line with the wheels. The side bars could be extended about 2-3 buttons longer. You might w...

Re: New to wheelchair, peeing issues

Are the leg rings hanging down about 2-3" from the frame? If they are too tight, it might be causing pressure on the abdomen.

Re: Help with dog stroller information needed

It does sound like your dog would be a good candidate for the adjustable wheelchair and the nice thing is it folds up flat. If your dog is out for a walk and gets tired, the lightweight Walkin' Wheels wheelchair can be folded up in the tote bag that comes with it. The wheelchair will take the weight...

Re: Help with dog stroller information needed

The stroller we sell is really nice for dogs under 40 lbs. It has a mesh front panel that zips up so dog can't jump out, and a band leash to clip onto dogs collar. This stroller folds flat and is designed nicely for a dog.

Re: high energy in wheel chair.... Loves her wheels

I think the most important thing is to make sure that the fitting is correct so she shouldn't be flipping over, unless of course she goes over a curb very fast. You can send me a picture of her in the wheelchair (side and rear view) and I can evaluate the fitting:

Re: How to attach a leash to Walkin' Wheels?

Here is an item you might want to consider since it does have a ring for the leash on the vest harness: http://www.handicappedpets.com/walkin-small-front-vest and click the color tabs to navigate the measure page. Most Pug, Frenchies, Doxys use this vest with the wheelchair instead of the front harn...
