Re: 19 year old suddenly blind cat help us....
circling is a classic sign of neurological damage, most likely from the seizure. I have two cats who had head injuries who circle a few times, then walk straight. some animals will circle a lot more than others. I'm not sure what exactly is going on that causes it, but it is indicated of brain damag...

Re: 19 year old suddenly blind cat help us....
First, WELCOME to the board! :banner: sorry to hear about your girl going blind. my vet once told me she had never actually seen a cat go blind from it although she has heard of it as a possible side effect. She also said it occurred at the high end of the dose. I've used it with great effect, and n...

Re: Advice desperately needed for newly injured cat!
Ok, if he is peeing and pooing then his spine is not broken. that is GREAT news. I'm from the Philadelphia area originally, I ran screaming away and don't ever want to go back. Can he move his tail at all? I'd say he has swelling and needs time. If he isn't moving his legs at all I would move them v...

Re: Advice desperately needed for newly injured cat!
drive as fast as you can to a different vet, make sure to run over your old vet on the way. is Smallboy peeing/pooing ok? if not that coudl make him go off his food. he might also be dehydrated and need fluids, which will also make him go off his foot. he needs to be confined, and you are right this...

Re: Medication for heart murmur
Welcome back and congrats on your new pup. i have had many cats with heart murmurs. what i usually do is have a chest echo done, this shows how the heart is functioning, if there is any ventricle enlargement or wall thickening. Depending on what the heart is doing, the critter (sorry critters) in qu...

Re: making a quick kitten diaper from a puppy pad
I take a small puppy pad and cut it in half for her.
actually that face is saying "enough with the camera already put me down!"
she is pretty cooperative. she (and Bbean) get impatient if I take too long. Bbean will most definitely run away if he can, he loves the 'catch me' game.

more progress for Butterbean
I will admit sometimes when I"m doing his physical therapy, moving his bizarrely shaped limbs in whatever ways they will go, I wonder if he is going to ever use them for anything. Today I was watching him savage a small pillow-type bed. he was holding one end down with his front feet and had a ...

Isis (head trauma kitten) is making progress.
Isis is definitely seeing a few things. she has been on my lap for about an hour now. she stared and stared at my pendant then pounced it right on target, it was not moving but it is dark against my cruddy white shirt. she then batted it around for a bit. After that she stared and stared at the side...
