Re: So Far So Good

Oh Marci, that is so great to hear - what a ride our hearts take in such a short time! My Bailey has been having some motor problems this past month and the supplements and medications caused her to slow down on bowel movements. My vet told me to give her an enema, but before I did that, I remembere...

Re: Fibrocartilaginous embolism in Labrador

Hi again Marci, Just realized you did not mention whether or not Bear is able to urinate on his own and have bowel movements on his own. I do know that this is an immediate concern that should be addressed or it can cause another whole set of problems..hopefully your vet has mentioned this too. If t...

Re: Fibrocartilaginous embolism in Labrador

Welcome Marci. You have come to the right place. Many of the participants of this board have experienced FCE with their babies. You will get tons of help and hope. Just hang tight and listen to what they say - they know of what they speak.
Take care...we are glad you are here.

Re: What kind of cart do I need!!

My Bailey also weighs 50 - 54 pounds and needs help due to blindness and weakness in her rear legs. My husband built two ramps, one for the front steps and one for the back and we carpeted them...you do not need a slippery surface. What a major difference on my back strain, plus it is much easier fo...

Re: "Poop on Demand" question

Thanks, Carol. Strangely, I picked up a six pack of Boost when I was at the pharmacy for her new medication thinking I could entice her to eat with it (I asked the pharmacist if he saw any problem in giving it to her.) I got the vanilla flavor which also smells like cake mix. She loves it, so I put ...

"Poop on Demand" question

Bailey has been on a new round of supplements and medication fo treat her for protozoa myelitus (sp). The result has been a decrease in appetite and slow bowel movements. When I contacted the vet, she changed one of the medications that she felt was causing this and suggested that I give her an enem...

Oh, what a precious little one. He looks so unsure of himself. If he only knew how lucky he is now. His new name is perfect. Good, good luck with his treatments!

Re: An addition to our weinerdog family

Hi Paul, Sounds like all good weinerdogs go to heaven and that is the house of the Coovers! You and your wife are truly angels among the other angels with multiple special pets. The news story about your Johanna was great, just not long enough. I just found out Saturday from a new holistic vet I too...
