hmmm

I've never heard of regular vets doing a sliding scale, but maybe some of the big places do. However, sometimes vets are willing to cut a deal and/or forgive some costs. Some may let you pay over time. Some are just plain cheaper than others, too, so I'd call around. My GUESS would be that she strai...

I'm sorry, Giovanna. That infection sounds

awful. :( You gave him his best chance to go on.

Re: How to cause deep sensation reflex?

Most people pinch it with something, like a hemostat, but, frankly, I've never heard of "exercising" it on a regular basis. I only know of it being used as a diagnostic test for spinal nerve function.

custom-made stained glass art of critters for

memorial (or not). I think her stuff's REALLY neat, and it's only $40.

I may get some done, especially Old Charlie.

Guess you're right about being lucky to have

an elevator at all. :) At least you don't have to carry her up and down. The cottage sounds like a GREAT place to rehab.

Re: Cart contra physical therapy?

Wow-that exercise regimen of every 1/2 hour seems like too much. You have to live too, you know. Like Cindy says, just find a schedule that works for you. How about using the bathtub instead of running all over town to a swimming pool? It's a shame the cart doesn't fit into the elevator; I guess a h...

vision

For me, figuring out vision was more of a gut instinct, especially at first. Spunk was assumed to be totally blind after eye ruptures (and if I can ever post her pic you'll see the extremely heavy scarring of her eyes, which you'd think would prevent her from seeing at all). I soon came to realize, ...

I would NOT take the eye without doing a 3rd eyelid flap

first. Spunk's eyes ruptured twice before they'd do it, but Dr. B. just packed everything back in and did the flap. She wouldn't have survived enucleation, so it was an attempt to buy time. As it turned out, she still (3 years later) has both eyes, although they're badly scarred. It also happens to ...

Wow. They just can't get started on the road to

recovery because of more problems. Sometimes it takes awhile to get going, but their circumstance are especially tough. I wish them the best, and thanks for the info.

I've never done Megacolon myself, but

maybe Merck Vet can help. www.merckvetmanual.com The rest of my links disappeared when my motherboard blew. :( You might also try Vetpet, which is an email listserv with several resident vets, but jdf will have to send me the addy. It, too, disappeared, but let me know if you'd like to check it out....

Vetpet

This is the info I have on Vetpet. I don't know how current it is, although I may rejoin soon. Let me know if it doesn't work; I still email somebody who's a current member. I may email this weekend; I think I remember you from CH kitty club. I don't know that Callie had CH, but she had VERY severe ...
