Help, Reassurance And Support NEEDED!!
I'm not sure where to start. My darling, beautiful cat who is my best friend just got back from the vet specialists. To give you a bit of background-she is healthy but had an FCE in late November 2005 which paralyzed her half way down her back to the end of her tail-she has recovered well from her F...

Re: Cat With Arthritic Wrist.
Thanks so much for all your support and suggestions. You guys are awesome and I appreciate every post so much. The splint arrived and looks good. We haven't actually used it though as her joint has stabilised, she's just walking on it tenderly now. I plan to use it if need be again though. Her suppl...

Re: Cat With Arthritic Wrist.
By the way, in case anyone was wondering, I have purposely not put her name on here as about two years ago I had someone track me to a website using my username and her name. Creepy huh?! Anyway, if anyone can be of any help, please let me know. I have a chronic illness at the age of twenty-one (inv...

Cat With Arthritic Wrist.
Okay I need some help here. Please bare with me while I tell the story, haha. Okay, so my beautiful cat (aged around 13, in good health) has had arthritis for years. We adopted her from the SPCA and she had been beaten and they told us she would probablly develop arthritis in those places. She has m...

Re: dgp
Hey, thanks so much for your reply. My cat was also paralysed, through an FCE but she is doing really well now and has got all her function back. She was paralysed half way down her back to the end of her tail, but now she can walk normally and carry her tail!! She does have arthritis though, going ...

DogGonePain-Good Product Or Not??
Has anyone tried DogGonePain (a natural supplement for cats and dogs)?? I have been reccommended it for my cat who has arthritis. She has pentosan vet injections every six months or so which are fantastic, but I'm told that these supplements really help out too. You give a cat half a tablet a day an...

Re: FCE - Bunny Hopping
It definitely gets better-but it may take awhile. You can help him with gentle massage and encouraging him to keep exercising but it will be down to him. He will stop bunny hopping, or doing it less when he is able to. It might take six months to a year or more but it will get better.

Re: Cats And Car Trips!! Lots of help needed.
Thanks guys. We have tried taking her on smaller trips but I think it actually makes things worse, she gets really stressed. I have put her in the car every day and just sat in there with her for about two months to try and get her used to it but it doesn't seem to ease her fears much. As I said whe...

Re: 11 year old 109 lb lab with FCE/ spinal stroke
Hi there. My cat had an FCE about 16 months ago. She never lost bowel or bladder control but was totally paralysed in her back half. The first two months are the hardest, I remember my heart just breaking whilst watching her try to get around. But trust me-it all goes so much better after that. My c...

Re: Cats And Car Trips!! Lots of help needed.
Hey guys, Thanks again for all your tips. We did the car trip there and back. The way there wasn't too bad-she didn't feel great but she didn't vommit. She did go toilet (urinated and deficated), but at least she wasn't vomitting, I think she just went toilet due to the anxiety. On the way back thou...

Re: Cats And Car Trips!! Lots of help needed.
Hey, thanks so much for posting. :) :) We have a new cage for her this year, it's a steel framed one but has fabric sides and is very soft and comfortable inside. I actually think she would be happier sitting on my lap or in a basket on my lap but I'm not sure if that is the smartest thing to do eit...

Cats And Car Trips!! Lots of help needed.
Okay I need some help/tips/ideas. My beautiful cat Misty (11 years old approx, female, in good health) had an FCE (spinal stroke) last year and was paralysed in her back half. It's now just over a year later and she is doing really well-walking, running jumping, climbing stairs ETC. She still has a ...
