Re: liposarcoma
I don't know what treatments are used, but I did a quick search on a medical database, and there was nothing in the last ten years on canine liposarcomas. What that means is there probably aren't any new treatments, so whatever is suggested is likely to be the thing to do. If it is a skin tumor and ...

Re: ANGEL(OUR GOLDEN RETRIEVER)HER BOUT WITH CANCER
Here's a link to my friend Ed's story about his guide dog's cancer and similar amputation:

Kirby had the chemo and amputation and lived - and worked as a guide dog- for another year.

I also found this site

Has anyone tried these ramps? I'm looking for something that would work on stairs (just two to the back yard) as well as in the car.

Re: DM
My corgi girl suffered paralysis due to a spinal tumor for only a few weeks, but I learned that I could have cared for her as long as her life was worth living. You could try a cart, ramps for your stairs, etc. You might eventually have to deal with loss of bladder and bowel control, too. That might...

Dolly's gone
Last night her fever was down a little, but she was agitated and had chills. She drug herself into my room to sleep, which she had not done in some time, and in the morning she was paralyzed on her entire right side, including a blown pupil, and still burning with fever. I called my vet, who came to...

Re: Biopsy report
Right now the antibiotics aren't working so she is still running a high fever. I'll call or go in this afternoon and maybe they can culture something (the problem is not being sure what is infected) and find a good antibiotic. She did feel better as a result of an analgesic-antipyretic shot he gave ...

Re: katie's back legs...Rimadyl
If you are sure Katie isn't part Lab, its safe to try Rimadyl. It works really well. Back when it first came out I used it in a Lab with bad arthritis in her back because she couldn't tolerate even coated aspirin. It worked great until she started having seizures from side effects on the liver. But ...

Now I think she might have a UTI
Dolly is running a slight fever now and only ate part of her breakfast. She is already on Baytril from the surgery and I made a vet appointment for this afternoon, but I'm suspecting a UTI especially since it took a couple of days to get to where I am coming close to emptying her bladder. I should g...

Biopsy report
Well, she does have cancer, probably a metastatic variety, although that was pretty much a given for a bone tumor. Though now my vet thinks the paralysis is from arthritis or degenerative disk disease in her lower back. She is running a fever and he isn't sure if the infection is urinary or from the...

Thanks, everyone
I'm getting the hang of it. She has such a round little body it is hard to know which is the bladder except that when I squeeze the right thing it empties. No word on the biopsy yet and the new problem is that the post-surgery antibiotics are making her stools loose, but I think she'll be done with ...

Problems expressing corgi bladder
My corgi has trouble urinating due to partial hind end paralysis. As this only occurred recently (due to a spinal tumor; we are awaiting biopsy results) I have not mastered the art of expressing her bladder. Being a typical corgi, she hates it and cusses me out while I do it. I can get some urine bu...

Re: Problems expressing corgi bladder
I had more success tonight but I'd still appreciate any hints. The vet showed me how but he had some trouble, too, and the tech couldn't do it, so I don't know if it is corgi anatomy or my particular dog's stubborness. She does have a bowel movement first, usually without assistance except for holdi...
