A friend in England sent me this. A.J. Croce is a musician (son of Jim Croce) and he has adopted a hearing impaired dog that enjoys the vibrations of his music.

Looks like one of the other kittens chewed his whiskers off playing.

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
Funniest thing happened. It's cold here and all of a sudden there are flies everywhere (instead of mosquitoes for a change) and some of them get in. So I noticed one near Pip's bed and went to get my clear Coke cup to catch it, but it was gone. So I'm looking around with my cup asking Pip, "Whe...

Re: 16-yo cat with pancreatitis / Remdesivir for FIP
Just thinking today how much cat food has changed, in a good way. I once posted about trying to find something for my cat who only wanted to lick the liquid off the canned cat food, and standing in Petsmart shaking all the cans to find which ones had the most liquid. Now if you go to Petsmart or Wal...

Urp!
Ever since the surgery, there have been occasions where Pip is restless, so I go over to his bed and lift him to turn him so he can rest on his other side. And in the process of that, he burps. In fact, that was why he was restless, he needed to burp and couldn't. I don't have a copy of the x-ray, b...

Re: 16-yo cat with pancreatitis / Remdesivir for FIP
The vet put him on another course of amoxicilin with 30 mg of prednisone added. He also got a B-12 injection. He's been eating a lot better. A lot of Gerber turkey or chicken and Hartz senior stew or bisque, but also a bowl of dry food at night and some canned. Diarrhea has slowed down but is not go...

They also take a number of inches away from your line. I have 42 ft and don't want to give up any of them! This has been more complicated than I thought. It was great till the rain started and I put up lines indoors and started using a drying rack. Then someone pointed out that merely washing ...

Re: Percy - elderly brown tabby needs TLC - Parks, AZ
Gosh, he's not grooming. I've seen that with an outdoor senior cat that wasn't getting enough water. It takes a lot of saliva to groom. She caught up on her grooming when given a steady supply of water. He's in Arizona, I wonder if they brought him in off the street where he wasn't getting water. Or...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
 I think he's a little intimidated by Paddy. Paddy raised a paw at him a couple of times in early days, like a cat that is about to bat a toy. Now Pip keeps an eye on him every time he walks by. Pip was Best Dogger this morning. I threw my back out yesterday about 5:30. I got up this mor...

 Hi Duckymom18, I wonder if you have 18 ducks! :D I'm not sure what can be done for a year-old injury, but here are some links you might interested in. The first links are ideas to make a DIY duck wheelchair. https://handicappedpet.net/helppets/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=21399 https://han...

Re: 16-yo cat with pancreatitis / Remdesivir for FIP
If it were me with that tiny smidge of a pill I'd pop it in by hand, then if it hit spit and melted I'd consider that a win. I wish! I am terrible at hand pilling. I have tried a number of times. The vet makes it look so easy... He's been doing better, with his stools looking semi-form...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
Pip's 4.5 months post-surgery. He still has about the same limitations in his ability to hold his head and use his front legs. He can fully clean his bowl now, reaching all corners. There are 2 improvements. He doesn't seem to be flipping himself out of his bed unexpectedly now. And he is not hookin...

Re: Old-fashioned clothesline
:thankyou: I didn't know they would last that long. If the plastic cracks and starts catching on things it would have to be replaced. Last week I scraped the posts with a rigid paint scraper (rusty, especially at the welds), brushed them with a wire brush, and painted them with silver (Aluminum) Rus...
