Karen, There are oral forms of chemo, but I do not know if those types would work for Goober's cancer. Different chemo regiments are used on on different types of cancer, you can discuss it with your vet. The pred is going to slow the cancer down & may 'shrink' what is there for awhile. 5mg twic...

Karen, I am sorry about Goober's diagnosis. I'd ask again about lasix. I know your vet said it wouldn't help because of where the fluids are being coming from, but when I read 'limited' benefit, well that is some benefit. It is cheap & easy so why not give it a shot as long as your vet does not ...

Cha may be uncomfortable & having trouble getting up & around due to artihitis. It is very common in large breeds at her age even without her history of injuries. Is she on a good joint supplement & non-steriodal anti-inflamatory(i.e. rimadyl) or even enteric coated aspirin (i.e Ecotrin)...

Hope it works out. I'll take him (if he is cat friendly) but I am in Rhode Island. I am long time vet tech with resources to give him whatever he needs.
