Re: Help Needed: FCE care while I'm pregnant & general a

Holly, Hopefully by the time the baby comes taking care of Belle will be like second nature to you. It will be something that you schedule time for every day with out thinking. The baby will take a lot of your time but you will manage. It will be like having two babies but you will already be use to...

Re: Dogs: My dog has intervetebral disc disease with partial

Sunny, so sorry to hear about your baby but it sounds like you are doing a good job so far. Keep up the crate rest. That is the most important part of all of this. I would STOP the Rimadyl though because it has been known to cause death in quite a few critters. IVDD isn't as uncommon as you might th...

Re: Dogs: paralyzed bassett hound

Joanna and Maxine, Sounds like you are on the way to recovery. When you take her out to go potty,us a beach towel as a sling under her belly by her hits. Hold her up a support her with the towel and let her pee that way. I use a thin towel but it is big like a beach towel. ANything like that. You ca...

Have you tried Vet wrap? I found that was the best thing. You can get it at Petsmart and other pet stores. It comes in differnt colors too.

Re: Help Needed: Wheelchair/cart needed for miniature dachsh

Lori, So sorry to hear about Snausage but you have come to a good place. As others have said crate rest is the most important thing right now. STRICT crate rest. Only out to potty, which you carry him, then back to the crate. You don't mention if he has bladder ot bowel control. If he does you are o...

Re: they have done x-rays

Samantha, If she is reacting to a pinch then she has feeling!! YEAH. DOn't be discouraged about what the vet said. I think I told you before, that NOBODY understands spinal injuries. Just keep her crated and let her heal. A myelgram is what she needs to see what is going on. A xray will only tell if...

Re: Help Needed: paralyzed whippet

If she is taking steps on her own then she doesn't need the chair--This is GREAT, except that you bought the chair :( You don't say what happened but it sounds like she is on her way to recovery. She should be crated 100% for at least 6-8 weeks and only out to potty then back in. Her back needs time...

Re: Help Needed: my dog recently suffered a back injury

Samantha, So sorry to hear about your baby. The main thing right now is REST REST REST. She should be in the crate all the time except to go potty. Then you should carry her out and put her backin the crate. She needs time to heal. NO SCOOTING AROUND PERIOD. I know that is it hard but you have to do...

Here is a website on IVDD. I hope this helps. Also please visit www.dodgerslist.com. Most all the critters there suffer from IVDD. Also join the Yahoo Dodgerslist-there is a link there.

Dogs: Sydney's sister Samantha went to the Bridge-Warning gr

Even though I don't post much I usually check in daily and pray for those that need prayer and rejoice for those that have over come obstacles. Anyway now I need your prayers. I had to help Sydney's sister Samantha go to the Bridge on September 24. It was the hardest thing that I have ever done. I t...

Re: Urinary: UTI/Here I am!

Hi Elaine, So sorry that you are having to deal with UTI's because they are no fun. Berry Balance is a good supplement to use for UTI's, although it tastes pretty nasty. I use baby food to mix it with and it seems to taste better. You are correct in using the strips to test the urine DAILY. Always t...
