Re: Hello from the newest addition to the Bendy Family

I don't remember any discussion of back braces for cats either. I looked up some links. Not sure any of these are small enough. Found some others that were definitely too big. https://www.chewy.com/labra-ivdd-spine-injury-arthritis-dog/dp/768350 (XS = 5-10lbs lbs, 9") https://lilbackbracer.com/...

Re: Dolly

The first thought that came to mind was that as nice as that diaper was, YOU did not put it on her. She is so used to your loving touch and routine and this just wasn't RIGHT, so she handled it. Could be! I don't know what she couldn't stand about the disposable, but we do have a special rout...

Re: New here, are there good signs for IVDD recovery?

That is great news! Woohoo! :snoopy: And so interesting about that lump. I guess he didn't say what it was or what caused it? But he agreed it could affect the front legs, too. If he ever tells you the name of it, I'd love to know. Happy for you and your dog! Please give her an extra pat for me! :D

Re: New here, are there good signs for IVDD recovery?

Replies in purple... Do you have any idea what happened that might have caused her paralysis? Did she jump off a chair or run through a doggy door or get jumped on by a playmate, or anything that you know of? I'd be interested in what kind of tests were done to determine it is IVDD. Beagles are one...

Re: New here, are there good signs for IVDD recovery?

Hi gainesm, Replies in blue. A quick reply at the top, to your main question. I am not a vet but it sounds like she's doing really well, and I'd be very pleased if it was my dog. Hello, This is my first post here, I’m wondering if there things to look for or things that should be occurring ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Yesterday I was carrying him outside. I thought I was carrying him the usual way. He had his head bent down as we went, but he often does that when he really needs to go. (If he is looking earnestly down at the grass, it means he needs to be set down right away so he can go right now.) But yesterday...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Hopefully some. I looked up how long it takes bones to fuse for a dog and it said 3 to 4 months, so I hope it's still continuing. We are not doing a lot of PT. I do carry exercises on his front legs every time we go outside. I let him sit up as long as he likes (positioned between my knees) and he d...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Yes, partly from panic, I agree. 8-week recheck rads was yesterday. Not the best news. Some of his implants have broken. Don't know when it happened. I assume it was either when he hit his head on the cat tree, or flipping around in his playpen. This is after the neurologist assured me (when decidin...

Re: Newbie! Needing advice re knuckling and stiff feet

Replies in blue... Hi Carol Thanks for the advice, all really helpful. I have been taking him in the wheels up a quite steep slope which is near our house, I was thinking that going uphill would help strengthen his legs, I'm now wondering if maybe some of the walks have been a bit too much too soon...

Re: Newbie! Needing advice re knuckling and stiff feet

The dog I was getting the harness for was a golden retriever, which is such a common shape of dog that I thought any average harness should fit (ha!) but I was wrong. :pardon: When your dog needs custom fitting, it's easier to understand if it might need tweaking. If you decide to send more videos o...

Re: Newbie! Needing advice re knuckling and stiff feet

Your situation with the boots reminds me of what I went through trying to get a harness. Pardon my language in the following quote, but I was really ticked. I've had a problem getting a harness that will work for my big dog. I have ordered 3 harnesses and none of them worked. That was $35, $50, and ...

Re: Dolly

Dolly went for a dental today. She has the best teeth and they never have to do very much. They said she is in the very beginning of kidney disease. She'll be 15 in October. They gave her fluids with the dental to help her kidneys. I had dropped her off in her washable Pooch Pads diaper. I like that...
