Re: Paul Coover and Johanna on TV

Congrats Paul. You and Johanna are great reps for those 'handicapped pets' of the world. Keep up the good work.

Re: Help - Frosty Came home From Surgery Yesterday

I think that the last time i had surgery I did not really feel real well for about 6 weeks! Should I expect that if someone sliced my back open I should be doing very well in just five days? Karen, please hang in there and don't you give up on Frosty at this point. You are learning some coping skill...

Re: Help - Frosty Came home From Surgery Yesterday

Hi, I see somebody sent you the address for Dodger's List and that should help you a lot. As far as the bowel movements, a bit of Vaseline on the tip of a cotton swab and inserted just a little in the anus will stimulate your dog to have a bowel movement if it is needed. Choose a time that is simila...

Re: Dog with herniated disk;did anyone else NOT get the surg

Hi Christine! Hope Bailey loves it as much as mine do. We did change for several reasons when we did. Dweenger would be fine for 4 or 5 days on his old food and then vomit and have diahrrea for two days. Nidgie was a not stop itcher. Dweenger has vomited once since we switched, and Nidgie only itche...

Re: Sleep?

Well, I thought I was bad off but...We (Mom and Nidgie and I) go to bed anywhere from 8 to 11. Usually up at about 3:30 for a quick trip out to potty, back to sleep till 5, out to potty, dog breakfast between 5 and 5:30. People 3 mile walk between whenever we are fed and 45 minutes to an hour later,...

Re: update on cricket

Connie, So very sorry about your sister. I think that it is quite possible that Crickett was so stressed by you being gone that all your baby wants to do is sit on you now and not let you get away. I also know that high humidity and temp changes of anything more than about seven degrees affects the ...

Re: Sunday Morning Bully Report

Have you thought about a "horse tank"? They are generally made of galvanized metal and with a bit of ingenuity could probably be outfitted with some kind of a filter and a rubber pad in the bottom so it wasn't slippery. Fortunately our dog is short enough to walk around in a kiddie pool wi...

Re: Dog with herniated disk;did anyone else NOT get the surg

Hi Christine and Bailey! Sorry, but we don't get out on here on the weekends and we were gone on Friday too. Anyway, my guys are now eating Nature's Variety Raw Instincts. It is a freeze dried kibble that has no grain in it. Meat and veggies and fruit with tapioca as the binder. They love it and for...

Re: Hydrotherapy?

Have you tried having someone walk around the outside of the pool with a treat or a favorite toy or something so your baby wants to walk in the water? If that might work, remember to let the dog get ahold of the toy or treat once in awhile so it stays fun.

Re: advice plz

Hi, I hope you are keeping your dog pretty much confined so that rupture has a chance to heal with out having lots of movement and stress on it. The only time my dog took Pred from the regular vet was a total disaster so we got him off of it a s a p and went to the holistic vet and got some chiropra...

Re: Dog with herniated disk;did anyone else NOT get the surg

We did not have surgery. Dweenger is a standard smooth dachshund and he has been down twice in the last year. He needed to be carried and walked in a sling for a total of about four weeks between the two times. He now walks (a little wobbly when tired), runs, and even jumps small fences (which we d...
