Re: Incontinence problem in kitty

Maybe she should be vet checked for a urinary infection. Sometimes cats pee in odd spots when they have UTI. By your description, I do not think she is incontinent. She is choosing these spots. Two things come to mind, the UTI or stressed by moving in with other cats. Maybe you could confine her in ...

Re: Trooper & I are new here

Pam,
I am so sorry, but at least Trooper knew love & care in this world, if you had not stopped & helped him...he would have have never been loved. He left loved & cared for, he'll be waiting to return the favor. Again, I am so sorry, it's heart breaking.....

Re: I need help with my Trail please!

Maybe traction boots would help him on your wood floors...I can understand the rug issue with poor Sally. Do you think fitting him with a walking aid harness would let you help him around the house & down the stairs? If he is stiff when he gets up, maybe he is arthritic from the abuse injuries? ...

Re: Really need help with a dog who suffered a stroke

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, yes I am in the US, Rhode Island... I tried to explain, you do not need a history of ear infections or visible signs of an ear infection for it to be vestibular syndrome. In 30 years of vet teching & with my own dog almost always the dog has no previous history...

Re: Really need help with a dog who suffered a stroke

Jon,
I am thrilled he is improving!!! I hope his progress continues! My concern was your vet said 'there was no sign of an ear infection', I just wanted you to know with vestibular syndrome, it is not generally seen by looking down the ear canal.

Re: Really need help with a dog who suffered a stroke

Hi Jon, Prednisolone is a streriod, an anti-inflammatory, see my post above Carol's, I tried to explain it's 'ups' & 'downs' & why it might be worth asking your vet about. I am relieved to hear he is doing better! I know it is hard trying to make the descion on whether to go on or not (&...

Re: Really need help with a dog who suffered a stroke

Jon, Please, inquire if your vet would consider an addition of prednisolone with his antibiotic before you consider putting him to sleep, see my post above (that came out, it seems at the same time as your response to Carol's post). The addition of prednisolone & starting him supplements for his...
