Re: xena
six months now since xena passed. i cannot wipe her from mind. i cannot finish wiping the tears from my eyes. they seem so endless. but the raw ache of it is slowly subsiding. i spoke to someone yesterday about xena's medical history. her name was, ironically, amy. she's doing research on the benefi...

oh, i know this experience. it is the worst. my heart is with you. i'm so sorry.
please be brave for him, because he will, no doubt, be brave for you.
after...we can all cry together.
again...i'm just so, so sorry.

Re: not sure what to do now
well...the puppy is growing and she is smart as a tack, but she is rather defiant and challenging at times too. it's been a real journey. i can't quite remember if xena was like this as a pup. in my mind...she was simply perfect from the day i found her. part of the problem is that is has been so op...

Re: Tripod lab can barely stand after a trip to the beach
oh my...she's GORGEOUS.
and what a great shot with the cat!
sand is so much harder to run in, even with 4 legs. i would start with limiting her time running, and focus on her time swimming. see how that goes.

Re: Husky with Injured Right Front
my gal xena was a sheppard cross. she had her front left leg amputated because of bone cancer. she lived another 3 full and rich years after that. in the end, it was arthritis that ended her time with us. she lost the use of her other front leg. she lived to 12...which is fairly average for a girl h...

Re: Osteosarcoma and probable DM (amputate?)
well...amputation is not as bad it sounds. you obviously are already aware of its benefits. i blogged xena's experience of amputation and chemotherapy. i'll attach a link to her blog at the bottom of this post. hopefully it will be helpful for you. one thing you should know is that it is only a gues...

Re: not sure what to do now
good idea. problems interacting with other dogs have to be dealt with effectively and immediately. i forgot to mention that sasha knocks on the door when she wants to go toilet. unfortunately...if you don't open that door within 10 seconds, there are sometimes consequences. but she ALWAYS asks, and ...

Re: not sure what to do now
sasha goes to the vet in an hour for her last needles. i'm glad of the timing, because i believe she also has some sort of bladder infection. yesterday, she peed well over 20 times, 6 of those in the house (she is fully house trained now....so those are disappointing accidents for us both) and she a...

Re: Osteosarcoma and probable DM (amputate?)
wow. this IS very complicated.
we've lived with front leg amputation in this house...but not with any rear leg problems at the same time.
sorry i can't be more helpful. just know that i'm in your corner.
