Re: Cat was injured.....
I know you feel guilty-but don't-you're doing all the right things. It is horrible to confine any animal, but you just have to remember you are doing what is best for your cat and by doing this she will get better!! Drinking is important, but I find some cats don't drink that much anyway. As long as...

Re: Ignoring the failures of alternative medicine
Good article. I have a chronic illness myself and after thinking alternative medicine was absolutely crazy my whole life (although I'm only 20), I tried different aspects of it-and some of it worked-like accupunture, and a homeopathic remedy for some twitching/cramping I got. We give our cat glucosa...

Re: Need advice on advanced stage Rheumatoid Arthritis
I know I'm late posting here-but are pentosan vet injections available where you are?? I have seen good results with arthritis animals who have had them-they're natural and won't interfer with conventional medications either. You can do a Google Search on them. Not sure how they'd work with rheumato...

Re: bending tru the knees
He might still do it a bit, but he might get his strength back to-at the five week mark after an FCE I would say he should get some more strength back (I know the vets say with FCE most of the healing is done in the first couple of weeks but I have found that's not true). I'd expect some more healin...

Re: My dog hasn't had a BM in three days
Did your dog have an FCE (spinal stroke) or a regular stroke?? When my cat had her FCE last year she was half paralysed but thankfully was still able to urinate and defecate. However in the first week or so, she only went (both) every three days or so-no idea why-it was something we were worried abo...

Re: Collapsing still..Med change CPU trouble.
Hi-have you looked into natural therapies as well as the conventional ones?? Conventional ones are great if they work well-but sometimes doing both is the best option. I have found glucosamine supplements and pentosan vet injections (natural) to be good for arthritic pets. Heat is good for arthritis...

Re: Help, don't know what to do. Aging Boxer, hip mobility
I would get full vet tests before you do anything else-get x-rays, blood tests and so on-then you can proced with treatment options. For example-if it is arthritis you may be able to give medications or natural therapies like glucosamine or pentosan vet injections to help. Some hip problems can be f...
