Re: Carol, the litter box is at the Post Office....

Three cheers, Angela! I hope it works, but if not, well, at least we tried! Whiskers crossed...

Re: Got bathing down, need help on expressing bladder

Hi Tiffany, I don't know about you, but the bladder on my dog turned out to be in a slightly different spot than I had thought. I mean, with humans, the bladder is nestled pretty far down in the hollow of the pelvis, but in four-legged animals it seems to be quite a bit farther up toward the ribs. A...

For Critters

I thought about you all day. I had to work today or I would have written sooner. One thing I was wondering is whether it might be a good idea to ask MarkR if he would please go back later and delete this whole discussion, if you'd feel better about it. I think board hosts usually have a way of doing...

Ringworm Definitely Adds to the Workload

It was interesting to read the information link Sandy posted and see that many cases of ringworm are self-limiting in 6-8 weeks. That was my experience, though I didn't realize it at the time. My cat apparently brought it home following a bath at the vet. (Of course, this had to happen about a month...

Re: "Chronic /Terminally or "Interminably" ill pets

Dear Cat Fanatic, The answer is "yes" for me, and probably for many others on this board. I had a kitty who became FIV positive when she was two and she lived to be 12 1/2. She didn't show any sign of illness until the last year of her life. Like your cat, she suffered from nausea toward t...

Treated With the Dignity and Love She Deserves

Dear Nancy, You have helped her to a new lease on life. I bet she's very pleased to be sitting up. Please give her and Sam (and Riley if he's good) a snuggle for me!

Hmmm, Maybe a Basket in the Bulrushes?

Critters, Is it that you have too many animals for your City Code? Are any disabled and hard to place? Would boarding be an option if you had help with that?

Forgot to Mention

I had a handsome senior long-haired cat, and the last year of his life we trimmed some of the fur on his rear to make grooming easier for him. You can accomplish quite a bit without having it be very noticeable. I actually got the idea from my brother who had Persians, who did the same thing since t...

Re: litter box

Hi Tiffany, I tried cutting a litterbox down (I was using tin snips) and the plastic was more brittle than I thought, so my results were less elegant than hoped. An Exacto knife or box cutter might have been better. You and your husband might want to experiment with a cheap non-covered litter box fi...

Re: Thundering Around the Garden!?

Hi Angela, I would adore seeing a picture of my favorite teenage kitty! My dumb email program wouldn't open the one you sent earlier. It came out as 400 pages of letters and numbers instead of an image. I tried it at work too, in case it was my computer, but still no luck. :(

Re: try try again

Karen, Speaking of pellets, you have to picture this. My incontinent small dog ate a bunch of Bunny's rabbit raisins off the carpet a couple of days ago. So I had her standing on the bathroom counter to express her and let her do her business. Imagine my surprise when those rabbit droppings started ...

Noooo!!!

Critters, You've been on this board forever, how can it go without you? However far back I look in the archive, you are there. Is there anything anybody can do? Are your pets going to be OK? MarkR has my email address if I can help in any way. I've held onto the encouraging words you gave me, and wi...

Thundering Around the Garden!?

Hi Angela, That's so cool! My small dog runs when I have her on her sling, but I hadn't pictured it with a cat. It's so true, one of the first things I had to learn was not to pile up on her when she stops suddenly or makes a sharp turn during a run. Fortunately, she is both agile *and* aware of my ...
