From the creators of Wallace and Grommit

I have been away from the BB a while so I am not sure if you guys have already seen this, but the creators of Wallace and Grommit have launched a new series of their "Creature Comforts" featuring disabled animals to try and raise awareness regarding disability generally... one of the chara...

Patufet (CH Puppy), now with Kat at the Bridge...

My little, big CH puppy Patufet, who I always called "Puppy", went to the Bridge on Tuesday. He was just 9 months old, and he left this earth as he lived on it, playing with his favourite toys, and in his mommy's arms. Puppy had very severe CH plus other problems, he was unable to walk wit...

CH puppy

I have a "runt" puppy with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. He acts like he has cerebral palsy. He is now about 7 months old. He also has severe tail trauma which has affected his rear legs. Despite his problems he is bright and playful, though tends to get overexcited. He is one of the most difficu...

Muscle spasms + UTI

Hope Atticus has recovered from his UTI. I have a female dog with paralysis/incontinence that has suffered from recurrent UTI's for over a year and have found that the best route is to get a culture done as soon as the UTI starts and before giving antibiotics. Because of the bacterial problems cause...

Re: Need help please with Evans Mobility Units

Thanks Carol, I tried that address but it rebounded. They haven't answered yet from the first address I tried. If I don't hear anything I will try and call on Monday, not sure of the time difference though! Will let you know if I have any luck. I hope your move went well, mine is still pending, will...

Re: update on my 8-week puppy - took to Internal Specialist

I am fostering a 5-6 month old puppy, Patufet, with severe cerebellar problems. We only know that he was the last born of a litter of 9 and was very small in comparison to his siblings. At the age of 3-4 weeks his owners realised he couldn't walk like the others and he was taken to be PTS. We haven'...

Re: Need help please with Evans Mobility Units

It is metal (high-strength), but his original prototype was PVC!:

Re: Need help please with Evans Mobility Units

I thought they were metal. I wouldn't have thought PVC would hold the weight of a large dog. But whatever they're made of, I wouldn't be able to make one, I'm useless at anything vaguely mechanical or that requires any manual dexterity. The maker is Dr. Claud Evans and that is his veterinary clinic,...

Need help please with Evans Mobility Units

I am looking at an Evans Mobility Unit for Patufet (my foster puppy with severe Cerebellar Hypoplasia). Problem is their website is very slow and the "contact us" page doesn't work and I can't find an email address for them. Can anyone in the US have a look and see if you get a better conn...

Re: Kat

Thank you. Bendy, that is kind, I would be delighted to have something from the Bendy family at the memorial, though I don't know how long it will take me to set something up... it will probably be for October. Here is the association's mailbox address (it is not a street address): Associació El Clu...

Re: Kat

Thank you for your kind words. We are just about to move to a place that is better suited to setting up a place for rehab for animals with mobility problems. I was so excited because it had a little house that was going to be Kat's own place, situated right between the house and what will be the reh...

Kat

I'm so sorry to have to write this. My precious Kat disappeared on Sunday. At 6 p.m. she was sunbathing outside my kitchen window; I never saw her again. From the first moment I knew something bad had happened. I spent two days looking for her, desperate because she couldn't survive alone for much l...

Re: a sad day at the Bendy house

I'm so sorry Bendy, a friend and I used to have a shop and took cats and kittens in from the street and we had these kind of traumatic things happen from time to time, it is very tough to deal with and something you never get used to... I hope that you will comfort your mom for us, and that things c...

Re: Nen :-)

Yes, you remembered! The photo of him is in the fire station after he was rescued, remember how horrified we were that they were letting him run around like that?

I think those fireman's boots made an impression on him at an early age and that was why he had to have his own later :-)
