Shamus, a double amputee cat *LINK*
Hi Dawn, If you click the link at the end of this message, it takes you to the news article about Shamus, a double amputee cat. The newspaper has archived the article so you can't read the whole thing online anymore, but you can still see his picture. I copied the text of the article back before the...

Re: Help Needed: Rear Leg Amputation - Susie Continued
Hi Dawn, > Susie just will not go into her box. We put her in every hour and then praise her and put her back on her bed. She yeowls and will not stay in the box, even with me supporting the side with no hind leg. I'm thinking maybe wait a little longer before putting her in the box? If you know she...

Hi Janie, Do you know about a super website called DodgersList? I will put a link to it at the bottom of this message so you can see it. It is especially for people who have dachshunds with back problems. One of the people on this message board, Anita, has a dachshund and who was Story of the Month ...

Sinking feeling
Oh no, this isn't the response you wanted I'm sure. Oh, dear. I have to say it. That dog is using his tail. Look at the tail wag. That dog was hurt 3 weeks ago. That dog should be resting. That dog might recover. That dog shouldn't be in the cart. How could anyone possibly tell them? They are all so...

You might consider physical therapy
Hi Jill, My dog had rear-end paralysis from a spinal fracture (complete break, spinal cord pinched between the two separated parts of the spine). She learned to walk again but it took months. By that time we were dealing with something called "learned non-use". That is when the dog hasn't ...

Box has been mailed! :)
Hi Dawn, Shipped the box about an hour ago airmail. Let's hope they don't hold it up at the border--do you think they're going to believe the customs declaration that someone is shipping a litter box? LOL! It sounds like you found a really good spot for her under the desk. Someone told me years ago,...

Box is ready to go
The litter box is in a nice cardboard carton ready to go as soon as I have the address. Knowing kitties, she may think the cardboard carton is the best part! As for being on the linoleum, that is probably a more challenging surface for her right now than carpet. She may do best on low pile carpet (l...

Re: Litter Box *LINK*
Hi Dawn, Will get Susie her box around lunchtime and get it ready to ship. I hope she'll like it. :) They're nice boxes, whether you need a special box or not! A Norwegian Forest cat! Ohmygoodness, if there's any cat in the world I admire as the most beautiful, it would be the Norwegian Forest cat. ...

Other Topic MarkR, time for another litter box
Hi Mark,
I just emailed you to be sure you still have my email address. Dawn is going to send you her address so I can ship her Susiecat a low-sided litter box, free as before. Would you mind forwarding the address when you get it? Thanks!

Re: Other quadrapelegic cat-
Hi LuvMyPets, I would certainly want to give this kitty a good long time to pull through and recover. That part is easy. Let him rest quietly, let him take it very easy, and give him whatever time he needs to mend. Then you'll have a better idea of what you've got--it's too soon to tell yet. Perhaps...

Litter Box
Hi Dawn, If you would like, I would ***gladly*** ship you a low-sided litter box like the one described in the message Critters gave a link to. I've shipped one to South Africa and the kitty loved it. I also shipped one to the east coast. Would just need your address. If you (understandably) don't w...

P.S.
Tomorrow if the sun is streaming throught the window, I would put her on the carpet where she can lie in it and soak some of it up. I'll bet she hasn't had a sunbath for 6 days.

That's great to hear the good news. Somehow, "going strong" sounds like a good description for your Mandy!
