Re: Prednisone Question
Thank you. I guess you figured out we didn't get it and I didn't know to ask. I suppose it's way too late now.

Wendi--News About Max Posted Below
Hi Wendi, It must be hard to see him acting like that. I don't know either, it could be nerves as you say. After my dog had surgery, she started acting restless and I gave her a rawhide which did the trick. However, I once had a cat who was ill and was licking the fur off his forearm, and they told ...

Re: Cat urination problems------cat having trouble urinatin
I know it's the weekend, but you really should not wait till Monday to have her checked out. That could be dangerous. Start calling around till you find someone who's open or has emergency service. They should you right in once you tell them what's going on.

Liquid Bandage
I found two brands of liquid bandage suitable to veterinary use, and Critters is so right, they're quite expensive. There is one called Pro Care Liquid Bandaid that is $16.50 for a little half ounce bottle. There is another called Facilitator Liquid Bandage that is $18.95 for a half ounce bottle. (H...

Re: handsome fiv positive male
There is an FIV vaccine available now through the Fort Dodge company. Your vet may have it. One option is to vaccinate your other cats. An effect of the vaccine is that after you have vaccinated a cat for FIV, the cat will test positive on an FIV test even though it is not infected. Therefore, nowad...

If You Can't Turn Him
I'm with you 100% as far as how you feel about taking care of him. If Max can't be turned then there is something you can try if he'll go for it. He's going to lie on only one side, but he doesn't have to have the pressure on exactly the same few inches of that side all the time. I'm assuming he's o...

Question for Alice and everybody
Hi Alice, Did the vet do surgery or anything to stabilize her back? Is it upper, mid, lower back, or where? When my dog was injured, the vet did surgery and put in staples and bone cement on her back. I was able to express her bladder at home without worrying that I might accidentally strain her bac...

Angela about the litterbox
Hi Angela, I found a nice litterbox like the one in the picture at our local pet store, if you decide it will work for your kitty. Also, Mark R. who provides this Bulletin Board (Thank you, Mark R.!) has kindly offered to either forward my email address to you, or forward your address to me if you d...

Re: litter box
Hi Angela, The offer holds good, so just let me know. Would be glad to do it. We're going to PetsMart this morning for indoor exercise as it's raining, so will look at housetraining boxes while there. Maybe you could print the picture from the Foster and Smith website for your vet to look at?

Re: growing spurt?
While I was at PetsMart today looking at puppy housetraining supplies, I noticed one of the products they carry is a frame to put the (puppy) pads in so they won't get so wrinkled and shredded. It is a square frame that holds the pad flat.

Re: litter box--Oops
Hi Angela, I just read the website above and see they don't ship overseas. If you think this type of box would work for your cat, I could mail you one free. I don't mind. I used to have a cat who would have benefitted from such a box, and I'd like your cat to have one if it would help. Would need yo...

Re: litter box
Hi Angela, Sorry I didn't realize you were in South Africa. If you go to the link below and enter the word Housetraining in the search box, you'll see the low sided litterbox for puppies. I couldn't get the website to work earlier but it does now, so you may have to try more than once. I don't think...

Re: Chase, knuckle bleeding
Hi Joel, It sounds like you have really tried to get him to wear the boots, and I don't have the answer to your question about nontoxic liquid bandage. I am including the following instructions that came with my dog boots from Pro-Active Paws on the remote chance they might help. On one page it says...

Foot Protection
Hi Kat, It sound like you have a really well-cared for dog! :) That's a cute idea about the foam mesh shelf lining. I use vet wrap for the same thing. It is stretchy like an Ace bandage but it is self-stick and comes in bright colors. No velcro required. PetsMart has 5 yds of 2 inch wide wrap for $2...

Re: litter box
Or what about a puppy training litter box? Those are plastic and high on three sides and only about an inch high on the front. PetsMart carries them.
