Re: Newbie! Needing advice re knuckling and stiff feet
Replies in blue... Awww thanks Carol, he's getting on really well now with the walking, my only problem is getting him to stay outside long enough as he's so lazy :) He totters round a bit then runs back to the house to his bed.. yes runs now!! :o I think he's knuckling on both feet as it's easier ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
He's been doing pretty well, but then tonight he urped and choked a little. I hope he didn't inhale. He had his Knox blocks an hour earlier and was lying curled up on his left side. He can curl up that way, but he cannot eat that way (swallowing problem) and apparently can't belch that way either. I...

Re: Paralyzed dog with knee problems...
Replies in blue... Thank you for your reply Carol! It really helped me. The thing with his leg is that it's always been kinda bad since the surgery. It was hard to move it from the beginning and the vet told us that he probably couldn't use it properly if he would walk again. So that's nothing new....

Re: Paralyzed dog with knee problems...
Hi Donybelle, I don't really have an answer, just some comments. It's such a shame he has this situation on top of the other, or as a result of it. I can understand not wanting to operate if you think he's never going to walk again. For what it's worth, and I know you've heard this before, dogs do c...

Old-fashioned clothesline
I wash 2 loads of pet laundry a day :wash: and dry 2 loads a day. :laundry: I just got something I've wanted since 1995. A pair of old-fashioned iron clothesline posts off Craigslist for $25. The man who fixed my fence installed them. If I line-dry 2 loads a day, and my dryer uses 2100 watts, that s...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
Pip is back on gabapentin today. He was off of it for a couple of weeks (I'm not sure how long) and then today he started trying to kick the back of his neck again. The only difference is I had been pottying him standing up every time for months, and 3 times this week I did it with him lying in the ...

Re: Hello from the newest addition to the Bendy Family
I don't remember any discussion of back braces for cats either. I looked up some links. Not sure any of these are small enough. Found some others that were definitely too big. https://www.chewy.com/labra-ivdd-spine-injury-arthritis-dog/dp/768350 (XS = 5-10lbs lbs, 9") https://lilbackbracer.com/...

Re: Dolly
The first thought that came to mind was that as nice as that diaper was, YOU did not put it on her. She is so used to your loving touch and routine and this just wasn't RIGHT, so she handled it. Could be! I don't know what she couldn't stand about the disposable, but we do have a special rout...

Re: New here, are there good signs for IVDD recovery?
That is great news! Woohoo! :snoopy: And so interesting about that lump. I guess he didn't say what it was or what caused it? But he agreed it could affect the front legs, too. If he ever tells you the name of it, I'd love to know. Happy for you and your dog! Please give her an extra pat for me! :D

Re: New here, are there good signs for IVDD recovery?
Replies in purple... Do you have any idea what happened that might have caused her paralysis? Did she jump off a chair or run through a doggy door or get jumped on by a playmate, or anything that you know of? I'd be interested in what kind of tests were done to determine it is IVDD. Beagles are one...
