Re: Cat Tail Pull Injury & Urination

That is good advice about expressing at home. :smart: :trophy: If your cat has a lot of tone, which makes it hard to express the bladder, he may benefit from medication to help with the excess tone. Common bladder meds are bethanecol and phenoxybenzamine. Phenoxybenzamine will relax the sphincters. ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Yesterday I had an appointment with the vet to arrange a dental for Pip. He isn't having problems that I'm aware of, but he needs a cleaning at least. The vet checked his teeth and agreed. We discussed a list of things that apply especially to him, with his situation of having spastic quadriplegia a...

Re: ANNPE and behaviour

Hi Otis's friend, I'm guessing he's a large dog, maybe very large? When you say pen, I'm not sure if he's in a normal crate or in something more like an x-pen. If you are having to assist him with a sling, it would be much easier to do so by housing him in an x-pen for now. It is very hard to get a ...

Re: ANNPE and behaviour

Hi Otis's friend! If you've been reading posts, I hope you got a chance to read the stats on recovery for ANNPE. They're so good. :D Abstract Presumptive ANNPE and FCEM were diagnosed in 157 and 44 dogs , respectively. Ambulatory function was regained in 99 per cent of cases, with persistent...

Oh, Beth, she's sweet! She looks so much like my Paddy. She sure landed in the best home ever when you adopted her! So happy for both of you!

Re: I am looking to adopt a kitten

Beth, that's wonderful! What a pretty name. I'm glad you were able to get one with CH! :D Down below the Compose screen is a tab called ATTACHMENTS. Click it and you will see ADD FILES. It lets you upload from your computer. If you can't get it let me know. I can't wait to see your new baby. A...

Yeah, if you have to track something all over the house, baking soda is as good as anything.

Re: I am looking to adopt a kitten

Hi Beth, Did you get your kitten yet? Here's one with CH (cerebellar hypoplasia). It says he "walks like a British soldier for a few steps and then falls over." He doesn't need any help eating or using the litter box. They want someone with experience. https://www.petfinder.com/cat/nevyn-7...

Re: How to clean fresh fecal (poop) stains on carpet

Exactly. Grind it in. Only dummy here tried that with baking soda and left sneaker tread marks all over the house because the baking soda stuck to my shoe.  :haha:

Re: Animax Ointment for female diaper dog

I guess I could. I'd end up touching the area with my fingers (potential germs). But I wash my hands before a diaper change because I'm pressing the new pad into the diaper with bare hands, and you would hope the ointment would take care of any germs, right? I'd have to lift her rear a little and th...

How to clean fresh fecal (poop) stains on carpet

This has been working so well, I just want to share it. I have a quadriplegic dog who does his Number Two lying down. Usually I put him on a "potty towel" on the living room carpet to do it, but often he will end up off the towel because he can kick his hind feet. It is not unusual for him...

Animax Ointment for female diaper dog

Dolly wears a diaper 16 hrs a day, and from time to time she'll get redness and swelling in her little girl area. The vet gave us Animax Ointment. I squirt a little bit on the pad of her diaper where it will contact her girl parts, and then put her diaper on. By about the 3rd diaper change she looks...
