Re: RIP my sweet Casey, please help me someone :-(

I'm so sorry for the loss of your little buddy  And I'm sorry for the way it happened. It's hard enough to lose your best friend from natural causes, much less something like this. I agree there was nothing you could have done... He was probably injured too seriously already the instant they gr...

Re: My Kitty's Broken Leg?

Yeah, femur fractures are usually too high to heal correctly on their own... I'm glad surgery was an option for you guys and I hope it went well. You're not a wimp. lol. I work at a vet clinic, but I had some treatments done on my cat at another clinic because they were more specialized in what she ...

Re: My Kitty's Broken Leg?

Sounds like you're doing a good job of watching him and keeping him calm and taken care of. :) If you're afraid he'll jump down when you go to sleep, you can put blankets on the floor and make yourself a nest and sleep down there with him. I've done that a time or two with my critters for different ...

Re: My Kitty's Broken Leg?

Hi there! Okay just logged on so you may or may not get this tonight... Best thing you can do for your kitty until you can get him checked at the vet is to keep him quiet, preferably in a small area so it's less likely that he will make his injury worse. Like in a big dog crate or just in one room i...

Re: Schnauzer can no longer walk, seems depressed.

Hi Cindi! :welcomepink: We're glad you found us! Sounds like you are on the right track doing therapy. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but these are my thoughts... If she can still move at least a pair of legs, there are carts to support back legs, front legs, or all four legs. If that's a...

Re: Trace protein in urine of paralyzed doggie

Wow what a wonderful milestone of 5 years coming up! :trophy: At this point I wouldn't be too worried. I see trace protein occasionally on the UA chem strips I do at work for pets, and unless it's paired with something else, they are usually given a clean bill of health. If it doesn't go away after ...

Re: A stray that was gone for quite awhile suddenly returned

I would suspect this kitty knows where food and love are :) He/She could still belong to someone and be roaming around the neighborhood, but who knows... I guess you can watch a little longer to make sure before taking him/her in 8)

Re: UTI...third time in a year! HELP ;(

I agree with Carol. I don't believe you or your parents were instructed on how often to express your kitty. I express my cat Cricket at least twice per day. Sounds like your kitty is not feeling well at all right now. The laying around and not drinking are red flags to me. I would recommend taking h...

Re: Hello Everyone

Skin problems can have a lot of causes. Your dog could have allergies, mites, fleas etc. It is best to go see your vet so they can look at your animal and maybe do some tests to find out what's wrong. Here's some things you can try in the meantime. Put flea medication on your pet. Get the good stuff...

Hi maine_coonz I'm glad you found an easier position to express Raz. It's too bad he's still wanting to struggle so much. Cricket used to twist and scratch when I would go to express. I found that holding her by the scruff when I express works best for her. I hold her facing me with my left hand and...
