Re: HARLEY'S Latest Update

Serious absolutely not - funny, comical and a bit strange yes! The photo was taken at the beach with a very active chipmunk driving him crazy therefore, the intent look to his eye! He is quite the character, an absolute snuggle bug. Today, returning with the groceries, I caught him snooping through ...

HARLEY'S Latest Update

Thanks to Carol for suggesting I update everyone on Harley's Addisons - he had another "mini" crash. Once the initial dose of Prednisone was finished which was really boosting the Flurinef to keep him stable he bottomed out but luckily I could get him into the vet right away. They have upp...

Re: Tillman is home and his name is Angel

Just had a brain"fart" - about seperation anxiety; I don't know if anyone has tested this out. I was thinking that if it's Mom he missed what if Mom wore a bandana for a day to get her scent on it really well and then tied it around his neck. Would he not smell Mom all the nextday and perh...

Re: Tillman is home and his name is Angel

OMG Karen, and I thought I had a stressful week - with only one sick puppy on my hands! If anyone deserves a week off from all forms of stress it is you - and you still manage to send posts to people in need here.
Respect goes out to you.

Welcome back Connie; glad to hear that you are recovered from your fall and that Cricket hasn't changed one little bit! Too precious! Tale care and stop working so darn hard.

Re: HARLEY Update!

It is totally remarkable how quickly they recover! I swear on Thursday night it looked like he was almost gone; and now you would never know he had been ill. Such resileance, he's just bounced back to life. The vet tech said while I was waiting for him to come out - "oh you are so lucky it wasn...

HARLEY Update!

Joy oh Joy - my boy is back! :snoopy: Yes it is Addison's but totally treatable - he will remain on the medication for life, they will need to check the dosage (probably twice a year) as the dog ages the dosage generally has to be increased. What a different dog departing the vets as to the one goin...

Re: Harley in Crisis - perhaps Addison's - Help!

Thanks Dianne - I'll be picking up some chicken on my way home from work tomorrow. The broth should do him wonders and he likes chicken so maybe he'll gobbled that up too! He certainly seems perkier tonight. The article on Addison's from Mar Vista vet had a link to Whipworm which has been known to c...

Re: Harley in Crisis - perhaps Addison's - Help!

Thanks to everyone - your prayers are mighty powerful. Carol the link to Mar Vista's website is marvellous - it's well written for the layman(woman) to understand, especially when you're under stress and trying to understand something that took years of study for a vet to learn! I now have some good...

Re: Harley in Crisis - perhaps Addison's - Help!

Thanks Karen; I'll probably need a dictionary next to me to understand it all. I'm grateful for a starting point to sort this out.
Again, thank you.
