Medications: Baycox Dosage for cats

Post by shasinc »

At least a year ago I remember someone had a dosage schedule to use Baycox on cats with drippy diarrhea. It was in a Word or Excel format.

Baycox treats coccidea, i've seen it work within hours!

to calculate the dosage, weigh the kitten in ounces.

1 ounce = .02 mls
2 ounces = .03 mls
keep adding .01 mls per ounce.

It is a bit irritating to the throat so I usually draw up the baycox dose, then an equal amount of pet-pectate (don't use kaopectate it is no longer safe for kitties).

dose once daily for two days and repeat in a week. I have had some very stubborn cases of coccidea where I had to dose for three days.

I get it from Foye's Pigeon Supply (don't have the link, sorry. you can google it tho).

you can also give them canned pumpkin (not pie filling, just plain pumpkin) which many kittens like. this firms up stools but does not treat the underlying cause.

hope the kittens feel better soon!

WAIT!!!!!!Re Baycox: DO NOT USE the pigeon formulation!!! It will burn mucus membranes without proper dilution because it's meant to be cut in water. ONLY USe THE PIGLET formulation available without prescription from Austrailia and Canada. Definitely do your research first!!!!!
