Sam surprised us this am

Post by Bendy Kitty »

I opend the door and heard a grovelly mrrrrow
He was looking up at me from his heating pad with bright eyes.
I gave him 150cc SQ and let him rest for 20 minutes to absorb it. Figured I'd try and convince him to eat some AD food. Brought in the syringe in case I'd need to force feed him.
He saw the can and his eyes got huge.
I opened it and tried to lift his head.
I fed him off a spoon, holding his head up. He gobbled down almost all of the 6oz can, I'd say 5.5 ounces.
Then he started rocking himself, and made several grunting mrows, and pushed himself slowly to his feet.
He took about five steps, then slowly settled down.
I was so happy I cried all over him.
His feet are still a little cool, his ears are warm.
What a change from yesterday, I was sure he'd have passed during the night.
I settled him back on his heating pad after awhile. I'm running off to the shelter today to pick up more fluids and antibiotics for him.

Bendy's Mom
running on about 5 hrs sleep but doing ok, I think.

Good to hear Sam is doing better!

Cole sends Sam a warm nose lick and Spookie sends a love bite (we're still working on more 'appropriate' shows of affection, but this will have to do for now - hope Sam doesn't mind!) and we all hope Sam continues to bounce back!

I'm so glad he's feeling better! Great work!! The cold feet thing make me think of a blot clot which can cause hind leg weakness which is caused from heart problems. You might want to ask the vet about that.
