DM: Wheel Chair recommendations

Post by Rori »

My 11 year old GMS mix has degenerative myelopathy. I'm debating which wheelchair to buy for her. I think I have narrowed it down to either Doggone Wheels or Eddies Wheels. Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

Rori,

My German Shepherd had DM (also at 11) and she did well with an Eddie's.

You can check out Ivan's page (see link below)
We used a Doggonwheels cart..Ivan was a big GShep mix (160lbs!) For the big dogs, the nice thing about the Doggonwheels system is the "sling" type of saddle that suspends them in the cart...it can be used as a walking aid for up steps, inside the house, etc. and makes it easier to get the big guys into their cart.
Ivan moved on this April but he had an additional year and a half of quality fun times added to his life because of his cart(you can see some of his photos on his page).
Good luck in your selection! And may you both enjoy the wheels as much as Ivan and I did his!
