My Phoebe is HOME!!!! When she saw my hubby at the vet, Phoebe "ran" up to him and reared up on her hind legs to kiss him!!!
She is getting around great and is resting comfortably. I have to change her bandages on Thurs and again on Sat and then she has to go back on Mon to have her drain removed.
She had a flesh eating bacterial infection. Which is why she had to stay so long. But, she's very happy to be home and we're so thrilled to have her back!!!!
Poor baby is worn out and is resting in her crate. She loves her crate, which I'm so thankful for:) I'll try and take a pic of her up and about when she's nice and rested
Thanks for all the support!!!!

Glad she is able to be home finally. A co-worker's husband had MRSA in a hernia incision and she had to wear gloves to change his dressings, wash the sheets with bleach, and not come in physical contact with him. It can be fatal.

Re: HOME
MRSA isn't usually a "flesh-eater," though; my dad's cousin had it as a chronic infection. The problem with MRSA is that it's resistant to so many antibiotics, hence the name--methicillin resistant staph aureus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flesh-eating_bacteriaCarolC wrote:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23580386/

So glad your baby is doing well with something so scary. Can't wait to see pictures!
Bailey's beloved and most favorite vet (we have three!) has MRSA from a spider bite. She is the young mother who has been deployed to Iraq and Africa several times. This diagnosis may cancel her next scheduled deployment in December for which we are all grateful...possibly the only time this condition could be thought of in a positive light.

Oops! I see what you mean. I should not assume it was MRSA when there are several things it could be and some of them are more common. I wonder what the bug was.critters wrote:MRSA isn't usually a "flesh-eater," though; my dad's cousin had it as a chronic infection. Re: HOME
Here she is!!!!!!!! In all her three legged wonder. She's been hopping all over the house and and jumping up (and down *gasp!*) onto the sofa. She ran off into our woods yesterday to bark a the dog next door. That freaked me out. I'm not ready for that! But, I'm glad she feels up to it!
I will wear gloves when I change her dressing tomorrow and the vet gave me all the bandages I need. But, if anyone has any other good tips or advice, I'm all ears:)

Re: HOME
Oh she looks just wonderful!!!
It's soooo hard the first few weeks, you panic at every little movement they make (especially the running/jumping kinds !) It'll all settle into "normal" soon though.
