Involuntary barking after seizure

Post by thebratpack »

Hi All
My senior Husky is in the midst of cluster seizures but started something last night he's never done before. For about an hour after one of the seizures he would not stop "yipping" in a different tone of voice than normal for about an hour. Approximately every 5-10 seconds or so.

He started it again about 30 minutes ago and can't seem to stop himself. Even if he's drinking he'll stop to bark a little. Our vet said it is probably triggered by the seizures and not to worry about it much, although it has never happened to him before it does happen.

Of course, I'm worried about it. Has anyone had experience with this???

Thanks
Maryann

Hmm. I wonder if it could be a milder seizure itself. If not, I'd agree it's part of the post-ictal state.
