The foster home in Utah has committed as long as he passes a cat test, which I will try to do tomorrow. I am told there is a backup home as well. We're still getting all the transport details worked out, but things are looking good. :D

Wonderful news about Ed and I second Carol's post, Carl would never have got to me if it weren't for the wonderful PilotsnPaws volunteer pilots who flew from Denver, CO to Raleigh, NC.

Ed is scheduled for takeoff at the Lexington airport this Tuesday! He is also getting much stronger on his feet. It's getting harder and harder to tell that just a week ago he couldn't walk :cheer:

Awwwww.....such good news!!!! You can finally breathe (and we can too). They say everything happens for a reason and it sounds like it was time for Ed to be with his real owner and be loved the way he should be. You were chosen to be his

If you are there for his send-off, maybe you'll take some more pictures for us? We are so glad you found us and I hope you won't be a stranger. We need people like you.

 Doin the Dance!

So excited! None of this would happened with out you.

Ed's story would have ended last week, and your heart would have been ripped out.

Your perserverence, your dedication, your LOVE above all, saved Ed's life.

Tears of gratitude! You are the BEST! :yay:

No, another setback. I was on my way to the airport and got a call that the first pilot's plane wouldn't start and was out of commission. So we are working on a plan B

The first leg of the trip has been completed successfully!! :ecstatic: I met up with a pilot named Joe yesterday evening, and he took him to the halfway point in Longmont, CO. He'll be staying there for a day or so before going the rest of the way with his second flight.

Love to hear it! I got an email from one of the places I contacted and I told Sherry, I was going to post her generous offer so that all resources were in the same place. Ed surely does have a lot of guardian angels on his side now!

Christine,

Has anyone come forward to help ED, the handicapped GSD in Kearney?
We have Cole (see on website: http://www.bwbr.org) who had the same thing happen. These dogs take a tremendous amt. of commitment, and thankfully the couple who took Cole in, are willing to do so.

Regards,
Sherry

Here is Cole's Homepage http://www.bwbr.org/ne_cole.html (Wow, his story is so much like Ed's...it is hard to think of a dog as a piece of equipment rather than the precious souls they are.) Christine

Here is a video of Ed's rescue, made by Laura at Healing Heart Sanctuary. It's short, as cute as can be, and such a great story.
