GA: Paralyzed Cat needs home
I found a neighborhood stray cat paralyzed from the hips down a few days ago. The vet tried to talk me into euthanizing him, but I refused. The vet thinks he was struck by a car.He needs urine and BMs expressed. I thought I had the time and fortitude to attend to his needs, but now I am not so sure.
He is almost 6 months old and very affectionate. He is an orange shorthair tabby with bronze colored eyes. I just treated him for fleas and ticks.
I will help purchase a wheelcart for him.
Middle Georgia area. I am able to drive up to 10 hrs to transport him.
If interested, please email me at glyde_iv@yahoo. co m

Hi - just a quick note: I have rescued paralyzed cats before, paralyzed for a variety of reasons - dog attack, car accident, etc. No one can guarantee, but often the paralysis is causes by inflammation - swelling - that heals naturally with the help of antibiotics. The swelling can pressure the nerves in the spinal column that can cause paralysis that is NOT permanent. Have you had xrays?

I emailed this person and got back the lovliest answer!
He is doing great! I decided to keep him. I took him to a better vet who prescribed steroids and provided support- and he has gotten back most of his nerve functioning/feeling. He is not 100percent yet and may never be, but a million times better than he was.
Thanks for checking on him!
