Lenoir County, NC: Precious 10 week old lab tripod

This sweet little boy is named Trey. He came into the Lenoir County SPCA shelter in NC ( http://lenoircountyspca.org/ ) w/ a broken leg. A volunteer brought him to the vet. It was determined that he was most likely hit by a car and the wound was at least 2 weeks old. I can't imagine how awful those 2 weeks must have been. Not even sure how this baby survived on his own w/ such a serious injury w/ no medical attention. The vet tried to save Trey's leg but it was too far gone and he had no choice but to amputate it (PICTURE ATTACHED).


Despite all this little boy has been through, he is so grateful, sweet and loving. He is only about 10 weeks old and has his whole life ahead of him. The shelter is your typical poor, rural shelter who does the best they can for these poor animals that continue to come in on a daily basis. They don't have the funds to pay for Trey's vet bills but the volunteer couldn't let him suffer and couldn't bare to have him euthanized.


We are currently in need of donations to help pay for his surgery and ongoing vet care. His vet bills currently are around $500- $600. Once released from the vet, he will also be in need of a foster and/or permanent home. If anyone is in a position to make a donation, we would be so grateful.
