Larson - Sweet cuddler recently diagnosed with FELV

Post by Christine »

You've heard of the underdog...meet the undercat. Larson was found mewing at a dumpster in Monroe, NC.

He survived a rough life until he was taken in, and cleaned up beautifully. This 1-2 year old boy is as sweet as he is striking, and we thought he had a home in Raleigh. After just a few days the lady said he was a perfect and loving boy, but she was developing allergies.

Once again, for Larson's life we very much need another safe place to foster home back in the Charlotte area. He is positive for feline leukemia, so no exposure to other cats.

I'm surprised they're still pushing the "no exposure to other cats" thing!

Would you elaborate, please? That could increase this little one's chances for a home if that is no longer necessary. Hey stranger!!

Hey! I just researched, and "they" recommend such measures as a separate room since the guess is that FELV can be contracted via food dishes, etc. Maybe that's what the group means? I was taking it to mean no other cats allowed. Here's what Best Friends has to say. You do NOT need to fork over your email to get to the page, annoying as their pop-up is. :x https://bestfriends.org/resources/felin ... -felv-faqs

Thanks...I am guessing that they figure that it would be "better safe than sorry", especially the way cats love to groom the ones they get along with.

Just got word that Larson is safe with a great foster!
