You can see pictures of him here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CC8zgF1pk0c ... vo6uuc0wrp

I have a sweet baby boy that was paralyzed due to a back injury a few years ago. we were taking care of him well and doing therapy with him. he made a lot of progress in a short amount of time and shows the potential to walk again. he has a TON of spirit!

there was an arrangement to have him picked up and taken to a rescue group in Canada that had the means to get him ALL the help he needed and more. but right before the transport date, they increased the restrictions on the boarder, currently making it impossible to move him there until restrictions are lifted. they are standing by and are ready to take him in as soon as that happens... but I didn't have any plan B, and now the situation at home is getting harder and harder to maintain. Its no longer an option.

I have only one option left to me, to try to find a good rescue group that will help him find a home better suited to his needs then we can provide......

He deserves to be happy even if it takes us out of the picture... But something has to be done yesterday. Ive been searching local (nc) but there is no rescue willing to take him because of some behavioral issues, namely his fear of other dogs he developed just last year when we were attacknoed by another larger dog that broke free from its owner... he was in his wheel chair. Ever since then he's down defensive behavior when hearing or seeing other dogs and i haven't let him get close to another since... he just needs some behavioral training or a slow introduction to others maybe. I am at a loss... It doesn't have to be local, I will take my baby boy ANYWHERE he has to go.

Can ANYONE take him in order to find him a good special needs home with someone that can afford to get him the specialized therapy he needs to get the rest of the way...? And can work with him and help his fear of other dogs? I am desperate...

we rescued him at 2 years old... i refuse to allow him to end up in another shelter... he deserves better... Please share 🙏

:whale: Hmm. I'm just pulling stuff out of my head now. I wonder if Rikki's Refuge in VA might take him, or if Best Friends (main outfit is in Utah) might be willing? Oh, there's a place for disabled puppers in Maryland, but I can't think of the name... Pets with Disabilities, maybe?
