Mary! Hi! Let me list some steps I listed for Sylvia, another LW. Obviously, you will skip most of the info.

Okay, let me list some steps that should be initiated. S needs to contact
the shelter and offer adoption and life-saving rescue. She will need to fill
out an application, offer a home visit, give veterinary references, and get
approved. Only then will the shelter allow transport arrangements (in most
cases). She wants to make sure pup is 1) healthy; 2) UTD on shots; 3) S/N.
When you get that information together, let me know 1) relinquishing shelter, 2)
all contact info from that shelter, 3) S's contact info and location (any
personal info should be kept off public message boards and will be held by
shelter in private as the transport is arranged).

I don't believe we have any transport coordinators here, which is what you will need to pull together this run.
If you join the following rescue railroads, and plead for a coordinator, the following are all yahoogroups:
special_needs_rescue_dogs, AnimalTransportNetwork, AnimalRescueEr, dog_rescue_railroad And there are others.
Once your coordinator gets the run sheet, please post it here, so our members can see if the corridors run through their neck of the woods.
I AM SO HAPPY you are doing this! WELCOME!

Any of y'all Texans know how far Kingwood is from Dallas? A guy (Ray) from http://www.kingwoodkorner.com/index.php ... 1a9062b678 joined us here at HP for awhile.

Mapquest says 227 miles or 3 hours and 44 minutes. Shows what I know! Thought it was farther. Maybe someone on his website will be travelling over Memorial Day.
