LW Abandoned in Bluffton, SC going home to WV!

Post by GabrielDeafBlindPupFamily »

WITH HUGE THANKS TO GAIL & HER FAMILY FOR ADOPTING LAKITA AND LINDSAY FOR ARRANGING TRANSPORT. I'm doing the first run, this is lindsays post, please contact her directly

Hello Everyone!
Three cheers and a hooray! The female, lethal white Australian Shepherd in Bluffton, South Carolina has found her furever home and is going to West Virginia!
Lakita is a lovely, sweet adult lethal white Australian Shepherd girl who has both hearing and seeing impairments. She was turned in after being left, found, and later picked up at a rest stop. With her cries of severe distress and anxiety in the kennel she urgently needed rescue. Thankfully, she has found her furever home in West Virginia, and now desperately seeks transport. She is traveling NORTH from South Carolina to West Virginia to become a new member of a great, forever family.
Transport is being arranged for Saturday, November 28TH and will start at 8:00AM that morning. The route will utilize the major interstates/roads for ease, and to minimize drive times-mileage. The leg times are an excellent estimate, and 15 minutes has been added to each leg to allow for potty breaks, transfers, etc. Lakita is UTD on all shots and healthy; she will be traveling will all necessary paperwork, a nonslip collar and lead.
All help is much appreciated! If you can help, please contact me directly with your (1) name, (2) contact number, and (3) the leg(s) you can drive. The legs are pretty flexible…you know your area better than I do. Therefore, if you know a shorter, easier location by all means tell me so I can adjust accordingly. The legs are as follows and are posted below.
Thank you so much for donating your time and miles to help get this cute, adorable girl home!

If it weren't for Angeltillman and AllicksDogAggressivePup, she would be home already. The story is very bizarre. We were told she was found at a rest area in WV, taken to Bluffton, dropped off at a boarding facility, abandoned, then the person who dropped her off said she might want her, but she was pregnant, they contacted me, took me 2 weeks to find an adopter because she wasn't officially 'abandoned' until late last week. No one wanted to step into a legal mess. I said I would overnight her in my bathroom (I am flat OUT of rooms) but no one wanted to step in. She is a mess in the cage, getting her head stucky, crying all the time. THANK GOD she'll be out by the weekend! It's been very stressful, trying to pull this together and a member in WV (what a coincidence!) said she would take her, Lindsay, our newest transport guru arranged transport now all we need is DRIVERS! I'll be picking her up about 7:30 on Saturday. She is a beauty. They guess a year or so.

I have wonderful news—a huge hooray! Through the generous support and contributions of fellow rescuers, volunteers, and Aussie lovers alike…LAKITA'S TRANSPORT HAS BEEN FILLED!! A special thank you to the Carolinas' and Virginia's Sheltie Rescues as well as the Carolinas' Border Collie Rescues for lending a helping hand in driving the some of the legs.
