Saved! Severely deformed little girl in need of forever home

Post by xraygetdownnow »

Dublin was brought to a local animal control when a citizen noticed she had been sleeping on their deck for a few days. They thought she had been hit by a car because her legs looked mangled. She was immediately taken to a vet where we discovered she was what is called "profoundly deformed." Her spine is curved and her tail is only a few inches long, so she looks like she has a duck's tail. Her front legs are curved up midway, so her gait looks more like a waddle. her eyes are slightly deformed so one looks to the side a little. She was checked out by two vets and has had xrays done of her spine. Her kidneys are a bit larger than they should be.

Now that all that's out of the way. Dublin eats well, is spayed, fiv/felv negative, and vaccinated. She is able to get around quickly and lives with several other cats, dogs and two grade school children who really like her a lot. She gets nervous when picked up but will quickly turn herself around in your arms until her face is nuzzling yours. That's how she prefers to be held. She can't groom herself easily and needs regular grooming. When we met her she had a mat the size of a fist on her back because she couldn't reach it and didn't have anyone to help her. Dublin, or Ducklin as we affectionately call her, can climb stairs with ease and can use a low sided litter box. She's a great little girl who deserves a safe and loving home of her own.

Please email me with any additional questions. Dublin is also posted on Petfinder with PAWS of Michigan animal rescue
