Sweet Manx Syrndrome kitty needs loving home

Post by iheartcow »

We adopted an adorable manx kitten, Cora, from the humane society about two years ago. She was eleven months old at the time, and showed mild signs of manx syndrome. The only extra care we had to do was to wipe her back area with a baby wipe once a day and apply a little dab of A&D ointment. She's had a couple of urinary tract infections since then, which cleared up with antibiotics.

Cora is a very sweet, playful, energetic, and cuddly kitty. She loves following people around the house, and is always up for a game of laser pointer or a quick snuggle. She also gets along very well with our Siberian Husky.

As far as Manx Syndrome cats go, Cora is definitely on the mild side. She has the signature rabbit hop when she runs, but has absolutely no impeded mobility. She loves sprinting through the house and jumping on the couches and her cat tower. She uses the litter box when she needs to go to the bathroom. She can't always feel when there is a poop coming out, so she does leave about three to four little poops around the house a day, but they're usually in her bed and extremely easy to clean up (they're always solid, so we just pick it up with toilet paper and flush it down the toilet). She does leak a bit when she's sleeping or extremely relaxed, so we find pee spots in her bed or where she sleeps on the couch and her cat tower.

We have a 1 year old son who is starting to get into everything, and we're in a tiny 1 bedroom condo, so we can't really keep Cora away from our son, and we don't want to lock her in the bathroom. But we also don't want our son to crawl over cat pee or pick up a piece of cat poop.

We love Cora so much, but feel it would be best and safer for our son and future kids if we found her a different home. We're so glad we could take her out of her cage at the humane society and give her as much love as we could these two years. We don't want her to be an outdoor cat because she's always been inside, and there are coyotes and raccoons here.

If anyone is a Manx Syndrome cat lover, or just a big-hearted animal lover, we would be so happy if you would adopt our sweet girl. Somewhere in Washington state would be ideal, but we are willing to drive her to a good home.
