GSD Looking For a Good Home - Advice on Getting Adopted

Post by AHFA »

Hi Everyone,

A Heart for Animals, Inc. is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) animal rescue in IL. We recently took in a disabled German Shepard - she has a nerve issue that is preventing her from using her back legs. We're in the process of getting her a wheel chair so she can live an active life!

She, of course, will be more difficult to get adopted so I'm looking for some advice on how to market her so that she has a better chance of being adopted. What are the things that you think should be highlighted and explained to make sure she gets a great home?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Maybe just a really great video showing her "doing stuff"? Like playing with other dogs, being sweet to children, walking in the park?

This is one of my favorite videos. At first you don't realize one of the dogs is paralyzed, they're having so much fun.
