Meet Levi
Muddy Paws often takes on the most needy of animals and does absolutely everything in our power to improve their quality of life before finding them a perfect forever home. That is the plan for our newest intake, Levi, an 8 week old goldendoodle. Sadly, Levi recently suffered a spinal cord injury which left him fecally incontinent. In other words, he can't tell when he has to "go" so it just happens. After seeing one vet and consulting with another, it appears that not much can be done to correct the condition and a referral was made to a neurologist. Levi has an appointment with VCA Midwest Veterinary Hospital on January 25th. If there is any procedure that would correct or better his condition, Muddy Paws will have it done. If there isn't anything that can be done, Muddy Paws will consult with specialists to come up with a plan to make the best of his condition by working on a daily routine of feeding and structured potty breaks.

The suggested adoption donation for Levi is $715. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.

Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal's foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal's needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter to take the pet to be altered at NHS free of charge. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The contract states the alter must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or adopter will be in breach of contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alter to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately after the procedure is complete. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
