Meet Thea (Special Needs) (Photos 5/10/2022)
Thea is a sweet 3-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on April 26, 2022 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Reynolds Run Road in the Newport Ohio area.

This little sweetheart was desperately in need of attention since it appeared that she had been fending for herself for quite awhile. Thea was painfully thin and came in with a 'kitty cold' .. And her coat was in very poor condition (dirty and matted).

Thea has a brown tabby-and-white long-haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable face with green/gold eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers.

Thea was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on April 26, 2022. She weighed just 3 lbs that day.

Fortunately for Thea, one of our compassionate HSOV Kennel Techs took her home the same day she arrived in our shelter and will be giving her extra TLC and good nutritional food.

These updated photos were taken on May 10, 2022 and Thea was looking (and feeling) much better after just two weeks after she was brought to us.

Thea's personality has blossomed, and she is an absolute dollbaby. Thea comes running to the front of her cage the moment she hears the click of the latch being lifted in hopes of some extra TLC. Thea has an affectionate disposition and loves to snuggle in your arms (and she also loves to give little 'love nips').

Thea weighed just 3.4 lbs on May 10th. The veterinarian who examined her told us that Thea will most likely always be a petite little lady and that her health issues are likely either congenital or hereditary. X-rays have shown severe hip dysplasia with acetabulum flattened and her hips are not in their sockets.

Thea will be spayed in the near future and will soon be looking for a fabulous home.
