Meet Posie
Meet Posie!

Posie is a spunky little tuxedo cat who was born with a very special condition. She was born with a condition called manx syndrome resulting in paralysis of her hind limbs and urinary and bowel incontinence. Because of this Posie's bladder and bowels need to be manually expressed about 3 times a day (https://fb.watch/aE0lgOKPjj/), fed a primarily wet food diet to ensure her stool is soft, and will require diapers (human baby diapers!). Posie has adjusted quite well to all these different needs and is a complete joy to have around.

Posie came to Community Cat after being born in a small rural shelter who had never seen a disability quite like Posie's.

Don't let Posie's disability fool you though, she is still a spunky, kitten who will play with cats of all shapes and sizes. She gets around quite well and will run to get her food, she plays hard with her toys and other cats, and she has even managed to climb small cat trees and her foster mom's pants. Her purr is out of this world too and she loves to snuggle. She loves to come with you anywhere you go and is a great adventure cat!

Loving a cat with disabilities is one of the most rewarding things you can do and Posie will not cease to amaze you with her ambition and strength.

If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: https://www.commcat.org/copy-of-adopt-a-bff

Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home.

Our adoption fees:
Kittens (under 6 months): $125 (or 2 for $175)
Adults (6 months to 7 years): $50 (or 2 for $75)
Seniors (8 years and up): $30 (or 2 for $45)

All cats are spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies (if age appropriate) and distemper, and microchipped.
