Meet Apple - Spina Bifida
Meet our special baby Apple!
female English Bulldog. Surrendered to the local shelter in April at 5 weeks old due to incontinence. Once we pulled this little girl from the shelter, we realized not only is she incontinent, but she also has a lame rear leg. After vetting with our primary vet, and a consult with a neurologist that included Mri's of her lower back, Apple has been diagnosed with Spina Bifida.

What this means for Apple is that she will be incontinent forever, and over time the weakness in her rear leg will progress. We expect Apple to require a wheelchair at some point in her life. The good news is Apple can still have a wonderful quality of life and is not in any pain. As far as she is concerned, shes just as normal as any other dog and wont let her diagnosis slow her down! She is loving, michievous, silly, and as adorable as any fat cheeked baby!

While we welcome all applications, please take the time to consider the lifelong commitment, patience, care, and compassion Apple will require before submitting one for Apple. Any experience with special needs dogs would be preferred.
