Meet Bernadette
Meet Bernadette! She is an 3.5 month old Catahoula. She is PIP-abled and doesn't have full control of her back legs. Don't let that deter you though, this spunky girl is so determined that she is ready to take on the world! She can walk some, and is getting better at it daily! She does scoot around using her front legs to pull her body where she wants to go though. She is also learning how to use her wheelchair, which is ideal for her to go on longer walks and it gives her more mobility. She would love someone around, or at least in and out frequently, throughout the day so she can get in some exercise, and her lunch. She's food motivated and incredibly smart! She's working on basic obedience daily. She will need a single level home, as stairs are not something she can do. She tries to pull herself up them, but will fall, so handi-cap accessible ramps would be ideal, especially for when she's bigger. She is very vocally opinionated so no apartments or townhouses please. She needs to continue doing some physical therapy (currently swimming and doing stretches) and maintain a healthy weight for her to live her best life. While she is special needs, please consider the needs of this breed before applying, she still has their mindset and needs to be physically and mentally stimulated daily. She would do well with medium or large breed dogs, but she does wish to be top dog and the center of attention. No small children. A dog savvy cat would be ok, but one that runs from dogs would be too much of a thrill for her to chase. When she is sleepy, she is the sweetest snuggler! She loves all toys and things to chew on. Her precious face and bunny hop through the yard is sure to melt your heart! If you think Bernadette could be your new best friend, please apply with Perfectly Imperfect Pups.
