Meet Lieutenant Dan Super Friendly! Special Needs.-Urgent Foster Needed!
Lieutenant Dan is an 8 month kitten found with his back legs paralyzed. A kind person noticed him dragging himself around outside, with a bloody underside due to not being able to lift his legs up. Red Waggin received the call and took him directly to a vet, where it was determined that he had two dislocated hips and a shattered pelvis, not congenital but done to him by a human or auto accident.

His underside is slowly healing and Red Waggin and the vet are working to make him a set of wheels. He also is currently on Lactulose to make sure he is going potty normally. ( when he first arrived he had to be unblocked several times due to his hips and lack of feeling in his back end, but lactulose is working for him now). He went to WSU Neurology and had a consult. They confirmed dislocated hips and shattered pelvis and the most they would recommend in the future is to watch him for UTIs and make sure he doesn't chew his tail since he can't feel it. They suggested amputating it, as if he caught it, it might cause injury to his pelvis. Lt Dan goes potty with a combination of the litter box and diapers.

Lt Dan is doing well, we are thinking of doing a drag bag and wheels for him. He just needs a mom or dad now. He is all ready for a bright future. He is so friendly and agile you wouldn't know that his back legs don't work. Dan will cuddle his way into your heart.

RWR requires that all their cats remain indoor-only.
