Yoshi is a Japanese Chin that was released by a breeder due to him having a back injury.
He has IVDD per our vet and xray. Yoshi has been going to rehab therapy to regain strength and muscle in his back legs and he has made a huge amount of progress!
Yoshi is one of the happiest dogs you will meet!
Yoshi is also a very active dog! He needs a doggie companion around his size that will play with him. He needs to stay active to keep his muscle strength from fading away. He loves toys but can be a bit possessive of them, he will growl if another dog will try to take his toy but never tries to bite.
Yoshi does not do stairs, he does use a little ramp and he is able to enter a one step entry into his foster home. He also does not walk on a leash well so he will need a fenced yard. Yoshi is not housebroken. He has his own little doggie playpen room with his bed and pottypad for when his foster goes to work and to sleep at night.
Yoshi will never have a normal gait but he is in no pain and needs no meds currently besides a daily dose of 1200 mg fish oil. Yoshi would benefit from continued visits for his Acupuncture and laser treatment. He currently goes every other week and the cost is $90 each time and we are hopeful he can back off to once a month.
Yoshi has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting him, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
